@Satsumo, Valve and such don't release digital sales information which is why when you look at charts it's not existent. The only thing that gets put out is retail sales and practically nobody buys retail PC games unless they want a collectors edition or
something.

I find it amazing that multiple people in this thread have even gone "Oh I have a PC that costs THIS MUCH" yet don't know things like this. Not to mention nobody would even spend close to those values on a "gaming PC".

@GG totally agree with making new friends, but at the moment there aren't enough games to warrant keeping the console, I will definitely pick another one up when gears releases as I like the series, then I can get the backlog of games for cheaper.

@DocHolliday

The cost of PC gaming is often just the cost of a video card, which is way below the cost of a console, because many already have a PC with a decent CPU. Even if a new PC was bought, it's not WAY over. You can spend a lot more, but you don't have to anymore.

When does next gen development actually happen? I don't mean just porting over a last gen game and wiping a 1080p/60fps cloth over it......I mean when deveolopers make actual new games specifically made for the new gen hardware, the sort of thing that would
not be possible on last gen hardware.
'Arkham Knight', which originally was slated for an October 2014 release and got pushed back to June 2015, won't be made available for "last gen hardware" but unfortunately for ONE users (and us PC Players!) SONY has secured exclusive content yet again for
this storied franchise and if this same strategy holds true for 'Knight' as it did with 'Asylum' & 'Origins', these exclusives are not of the "timed" variety and are of high quality. The exclusive playable Joker for 'Asylum' was the only time that I ever
considered buying a PlayStation but at the end of the day I still couldn't get past the idea of using that clumsy controller of theirs.

Another unfortunate reality of this highly anticipated release being "next gen only" for console users (regardless of their preference) is that they can't play the entire RockSteady trilogy on one console. You're correct in that "it's not the price that's
the problem", backwards compatibility should've been made a top priority in the original designs for these consoles and instead it was dispensed with immediately. Backwards Compatibility WAS a priority for BOTH the 360 & PS3 when they first launched which
is why they were able to look ahead and abandon the "last gen hardware" pretty much from launch day.

Not only are players being forced to play the final installment of this Great Trilogy on another machine, but they have to use a different controller as well. I'm most thankful that I'll be able to continue to play ALL these great games at full "next gen"
settings on the same PC with the same 360 controller...Microsoft, it's not the price that is the problem...... :)

7. You aren't going to be doing any brand new gaming but there is a wealth of classic titles, from
both PC and old consoles, that could be played on your laptop.

Games don't stop being good just because they weren't released inside the last two years.

Then
add in the price of a new PSU because the graphics card requires more power than the PCI Express slot can provide.

Even if it is one that can draw from only the PCI Express slot, then the cheap PSUs they put in prebuild PCs would still struggle to provide for the whole unit.

There is no point in just buying a new graphics card if you first don't make sure your PC is going to be able to power it.

You guys realize that there are some ppl that play games like WOW but don't have a Steam account or any other such like game but don't have a Steam account.

Then you guys keep talking about how "active accounts" means the Steam numbers are fluffed, but you're not even considering that the same could be said about Xbox accounts or Playstation accounts.

Bunch of knuckleheads you are.

Those games you're looking for will eventually come maybe.. I agree that cross gen games need to stop. It was ok last gen because the old consoles were 6ish years old when xbox 360 and ps3 came out, but now I feel they need to cut off the old consoles
and just make the game for the new. Only because xbox 360 is 9 yrs old and ps3 8yrs old and DEFINITELY HOLDING BACK this new gen.. And I don't know if you noticed, but every new console gen is an upgrade from the last. People need to quit having unrealistic
expectations for new gens. The real next step in gaming is VR. And there are games that show next gen already. Ryse, Infamous, Killzone, Forza Horizon 2, etc, so be patient they will come.. I'M ENJOYING THE HIGHER RESOLUTION, BETTER AA, TEXTURES AND OTHERS
THAT LAST GEN CAN'T DO..

10. Karma, while I understand people have different tastes and your reasons are perfectly sound, I have to disagree with your statement about how there simply isn't enough games on the console. The Xbox One console has well over 50+ games (which is growing steadily
by the week) in virtually every genre that there is. There ARE plenty of games on the console, just not many that YOU care enough about. Microsoft, it's not the price that is the problem...... ;)

When I mean pices of junk. I mean to will not run modren softwear at all. And I can not upgrade beyond what I say. It slow and no efiestint for any thing. I got a single core PC. And those days. You need to have a dual core cpu. Even to browes the web.
No sites those days work on single core cpu any more. Everything needs to be dual or more core's to work. And not everyone buy a damm computer for gaming. They used it for other things. That that to mind before commenting.

i was in GAME the other day and i over heard a lady say she wants a ps4 because destiny is only on a ps4, i did my good deed and informed her it was on 360 and xbox one so she decided to walk out and think more about which she wanted.

14. This is my problem with the exclusive advertising rights. It's feeding people false information. Believe it or not, not everyone researches these things beyond the commercials. The way it's been advertised for PS4 and not Xbox One, I'm not surprised people
don't know it's available. It's really unfair when you think about it, and I'm sure we lost many potential sales because no one would stand up for the Xbox One like Ghost has done. And the employee is hardly going to say, it's also on Xbox One, and risk losing
the sale of a PS4.

No, no I'm not having it. That is blatant sales sabotage. You can advertise it as the 'Best experience' on PS4, but not "Only on PS4". I know it doesn't say that, but average consumers and lax gamers aren't going to know the difference. Well let's hope we
get our own back with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare then. Eye for an Eye.

15.
SNIP
I will ignore the insults for a moment because from what I've read of your posts it is completely out of character. I apologise if I somehow managed to upset you.

No, you do not need at least a dual-core processor to browse the web. Who ever has told you this is a liar. Some of my mates mams and dads use ancient Pentium 3 based PCs for web browsing and office work, it's all they want from the PC.

From what you describe your laptop would be quite capable of some gaming, no matter how poor specs wise you believe it to be. If an iPhone 3 (which is a single core device by the way and capable of browsing the web) can run some old console emulators then
I'm sure your machine is quite able to run at least those.

Then there are the massive amount of games which were released when no-one had ever heard of a dual-core processor.

All those older games don't suddenly require newer hardware just because it exists.

So yes I know not everyone buys a computer for gaming. I'm writing this on a laptop with an APU, definitely not a 'gaming' device. But you know what? It's capable of doing some.

I am again genuinely sorry if that has somehow upset you.
