    The support for Microsoft said that the codes for a free trial were sent but its been 24 hours and I still haven't received a code for Xbox live.

    Hmm is a class action law suit in order here ....pay us all back for our loss of service!!!

    Yeah, good luck with that... Microsoft isn't liable for someone sending a ddos attack, but hey what do I know.

    Redeem code won't work

    I'm also having this issue with the 12 month xbox live code I got with purchasing a new Xbox one X. After trying multiple times through various redeem code areas, I finally got an error message that was meaningful.

    XBOS-1002 - which means the code is only valid for "NEW" members.

    It appears Microsoft is sending out codes only meant for new gamers, when it should be sending generic 12 month subscription codes.

    I'll be contacting support about this.

    Hello Char,

    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We do not send the codes for the Windows 10 edition. These come from Mojang. Here is the steps on how to claim the Windows 10 version.

    1. Go to minecraft.net

    2. Login with your MC Java account.

    3. Click big green "Buy Minecraft" button.

    4. You will get a screen saying: You already own Minecraft, and below that, in small text, a link provided to claim your Win10 edition.

    5. Follow that link and provide your Win10 (Microsoft) account.

    6. Open MS store in Win10, look for Minecraft. It should now say that you own it.

    7. Install and play.
