Microsoft International Warranty - You still pay for repair

I purchased an XBOX One in a Microsoft store in the US. I checked before I purchased it if the device came with an international warranty as I was taking the console baclk to the UK. I was assured that if anything happens under warranty any MIcrosoft office
in the world would repair the console under warranty with no additional charges. Needless to say on getting home from the US the XBOX failed after 3 weeks. After phoning XBOX support to arrange a repair I was charged £104+VAT for an out of region charge. After
I contact XBOX support to question the charge I was told this was to cover the cost of shipping the console back to the US as there is no copy of the installation files in the UK for a US device, getting the files sent over or using an FTP site within Microsoft
didn't make any sense to the Microoft rep. This charge is ridiculous as there should be no reason to ship the device back to the US.

My Xbox needs urgent repair!

Even though the warranty is over, you can still send a console in for repair, you just have to pay for the repair. However, since you opened the console Microsoft will no longer touch it.

You get the console repaired for free but you still have to pay the shipping cost.

I'd sell that machine when it got back, after having them ship it across the ocean twice I wouldn't trust the hard drive.

If it is still under warrenty then take it back to the shop for a replacement or phone Microsoft for a repair.

If it's not under warranty then you will have to pay either Microsoft or a specialist repair shop to fix it.

You tried most of what I would normally suggest. You can send your console for internal repairs to Microsoft, it costs nothing if its still under warranty.

You MUST NOT attempt a self repair of your Xbox One console. The internal hard drive is not NOT meant to be replaced by the end user. If you attempt this, you will void the warranty on your console and Microsoft will not repair it, even if you offer to
pay.

If your games are not loading and your console is making 'clicking' noises, it needs to be sent to MS for a repair.
