  1. Microsoft headset's mic doesn't working on more than an app at the same time

The issue is that when i want to use my headset mic for more than an app at the same time cant be recognized by the other apps .

    What i mean?

    1st case:

I tried at the same time take a call on Cisco jabber and talk on a teams meeting at the same time , witch my mic didn't work (in both app's audio settings i put headset's mic as default) , i tried even mute/unmute it on jabber if this was the issue and again nothing.

    2nd case:

I tried join a discord call and at the same time i opened a game witch includes voice chat and note that i opened the game before the discord call and the mic was working perfect , but at the second time that I opened the game with the discord call in the background with the same settings in game as it should be , but in game I couldn't use mice for voice chat .

    I tried multiple solutions:

Reinstall drivers , update firmware from xbox accessories app

Make headset as the default input / output device

Try it also on several other Desktops and laptops and the issue persists.

Everything i tried i came to the same conclusion that the headset ( 100$+ cost) has a serious software issue or maybe its a feature that its not included to the products firmware witch is a same , even very cheaper headsets can do that .

FYI unfortunately there is no specific model for the headset i can only see it as xbox wireless headset even after the xbox accessories install and firm update it is given the same name : USB\VID_045E&PID_0B17&IGA_00\00&00&000052B9EA8AED7E&09&16

    .

    :)

    Hello Antonopoulos Theodoros,

    We hope all are well.

To further investigate the issue, we would like to ask few questions about it.

    1. Have you made any recent software changes on your computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
We will do our research so we can give you concrete answers about what is causing the problem.

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

    Method 1:

Try using the audio troubleshooter and check whether it detects commonly known issue through this link. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Check to see if your headphones are set to be used as the default *Communication* device instead of the default device, or if both devices are set to default. If so, make the headphones default, so that Windows will use them only when they are plugged in.

    Check with volume settings.

    a. Right click on the speaker icon in taskbar and select volume control options.

    b. Put a check mark on "All devices currently playing sound".

    c. Make sure you have "The default communication device unchecked".

    d. Place a check mark on both speakers and headphones.

    Method 3:

Show Disabled devices and Set headphone as default

Perform the task mentioned below to set the headphones as default:

    a. Go to Start and click on control Panel.

    b. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.

    c. In the new windows click on the tab “Playback" and right click in the window and click on Show Disabled devices.

    d. Now check if the headphone is listed there and right click on it and choose enable.

    e. Highlight that speaker and click on "Set as Default"

Let us know what happens when you play.

Let us know the result and we will get back to you as soon as we can. We may recommend further troubleshooting steps once we have received your answers to the above questions.

    Kind regards,

Xbox One Stereo Headset via Windows 10 app

I am having the same issue. With my headset I can hear game audio, if I'm in a party chat I can hear my friends talking but the mic doesn't work. My mic does work outside of the xbox app perfectly. The headphones and mic are set to default in the playback
devices. It's an issue with the app and it needs to be updated.

Mute Icon will not go away

Sometimes my headset mic won't work in an Xbox party if I join it with the headset already plugged in. The mic usually works after I unplug and reconnect the headset to my Chatpad again.

If that doesn't work and a full power cycle also doesn't work then check to see if there is a firmware update that needs to be applied.

If all of the above doesn't work then unfortunately it appears that Microsoft has introduced an incompatibility between controllers and consoles that is impacting the 3.5mm headset jack on some Microsoft controllers. It is unknown how long it will
take before they release an update to fix that issue.

The Microsoft stereo headset adapter is one possible workaround. Another workaround to the issue is the Microsoft Chatpad. While this may be a bit more expensive than the headset adapter, it has some added benefits:

    • keyboard for easier typing in messages etc, can also be used as mappable controls for games like War Thunder
    • Built-in volume, game/party chat mixer adjustment

I know it's annoying to have to spend more money to fix an issue that is beyond your control however this will likely be the fastest way that you can resolve the issue at this time.

    Good luck!
