Microsoft gave me GoW 1,2,3 and Judgement free?

Ok, I've been around the block a few times and I've seen my fair share of scams via steam so I'm a little cautious as I'm fairly new to the world of Xbox. I received a message via Xbox live providing me with codes for Gears 1,2 3 and Judgement. Has anybody
else gotten this message? Is it legit or a scam? Is it related to the fact that I have Gears: Ultimate edition?

GOW game codes

hello I've bought my Gears of War 4 copy a few weeks ago and I haven't received the codes for GOW 1,2,3 and Judgement. The Xbox Microsoft support gave me a link to here and said you would be able to fix this issue for me. My Gamertag is ""

 

gears of war and gears of war 3 redeem code not working

Just got myself a new copy of GOW 4 and got me some standard codes for GOW 1,2,3,Judgement. Codes not working for GOW 1 and 3. Says some region code error. GOW 2 and Judgement working. Please assist !!

 

It's authentic the bonus to getting the remake was you were going to get all the old games for free when we got backwards compatibility. I got a message for fallout 3 when the update came out. Have fun with all those games

Another question though. My Nephew just got an Xbox one. Can I give these games to him or are they tied to my account already? I'd love to give my a little gift for good grades he has been getting in school.

Yes as long as you don't redeem them first you should be able to give them to him

 

Anyone who plays Gears of War: Ultimate (while connected to Live) before 31st December 2015 will receive tokens for all four Xbox 360 Gears of War games to download. These can then be download by whomever, but only used once.

 

Wow... I was under the impression that you had to have the GOW: UE disc in the drive in order to play the backwards compatible games... or, if you purchased the digital version game, then the 360 games would be like any other digital DL. But from what you
guys are saying, the codes are just like a regular pre purchased game code and anyone can use them? That's really cool if it works that way, especially for the gift idea.

 

I got the same message now I got four codes I will never use.

lol @brand... you know... they sent me another code last night, claiming one of the ones they sent me previously was "invalid"... but the game worked fine without redeeming the "valid" code? It was for GOW3 though.

 

How do the games look and play on the One?

 

So far brand, I've only played a little SP GOW 2, but I noticed something about it.

In a video I watched, about the development of TMCC, one of the devs pointed out that the Xbox One's upscaling actually brought out just a little more detail in the graphics in Halo 3, which they never touched up... he stated something like 'it was always
there, but it just didn't show, or didn't show well' on the 360.

Remembering that, I decided to look for this when I was playing GOW 2 and I did notice it. Of course, I can only speak to GOW 2, I'm betting 3 will look great and I will say it's more noticeable in the cutscenes than game play. It's not a huge difference,
it won't look like updated graphics by any means.

As far as how they play, from what I've played... it's just like the OG game. I haven't noticed any bugs, or stutters. As I said, I haven't played much, but so far, I'm pretty happy with how it plays.

 

You guys know all the GoW games other than GoW2 have been given away in the GwG program. The codes are kind of pointless unless you just bought a Xbox and Gold sub. But no matter what it was very cool of Microsoft to package all the games in the remaster.
