I guess I didn't get it.

I'll live, I suppose, since I don't plan on cancelling any time soon...

 

Would me having cancelled auto-renew on Gold have anything to do with me not receiving a code...?

 

I'm yet to get it as well. But then again, with all the problems with Xbox one and live lately, I'm thinking 12 months free might make up for it!!

 

There's no code. They just add on an extra month.

 

Yea I havnt had a message, but a month has been added to my account. Consider me happy slapped!

 

I never got the message and I bought it at launch. Though I didn't touch the multiplayer until recently. You have to have played the multiplayer within the 1st month or so of the games release in order to get this free month.

 

I thought it was any of the modes. All the same, I have a 150 hours spread across every game mode except Theater. Still no application of Gold. Frustrating.

 

@Batkinson - I've not once tried to find a match as I like to play the campaigns first and as stated on the other page in this thread, my subscription has been extended a month, without a message. So unless you've got a link saying that, I don't believe
you're correct.

I've done that multiple times. I've played the game since launch. I don't get why I'm not receiving the application.

 

^The only thing I can think of for you is maybe as you don't have a current gold subscription, there was nothing to extend? Because it's not like an extra month was added on top my current subscription, it actually just extended the date of the current one.
Goth has also confirmed that there was no code and the month was added to the current subscription.

Pure speculation on my part, but that's all I got.

 

It does not state that it's the MP that you have to have played within the specified time period, every article I read stated that you had to have played the Master Chief Collection, in which case campaign only play counts. Got my month and havnt touched
the MP.

According to the FAQ...

Beginning as early as mid-January 2015, depending on your existing Xbox Live subscription type, we will either apply the one month of Xbox Live Gold directly to your account or send a redeemable token via the Xbox One message center. In either case, we
will send a confirmation via the in-console message center, so please check it regularly.

This sounds to me like those with Xbox Live Free get a code, and those with an existing XBL Gold subscription get a direct extension/application of the free month of Gold. Perhaps Microsoft is extending everyone's Gold membership first, and then sending
the codes later to those with XBL Free. Would be easier, I suppose.

 

Thanks for that information Fyer, 'playing online' doesn't necessarily mean multiplayer though and I'll reiterate that I have not played the MP, but have most certainly 'played online'

@Jelhunted - Again, thanks for that info, I've not heard one person say they have received a code yet. Maybe they're just not up to sending them out? Have you made a post at the waypoint forums or Xbox support? That would be my next avenue.
