Microsoft Gaming Services Not Installing

When trying to launch a game with the xbox app on a PC connected to my microsoft account it takes me to the Microsoft Store to install game services, which is already installed, yet still wont launch anything. With that I have tried googling it and trying
the solutions there including the ones using powershell in admin mode with no success.a
