Microsoft FSX Accelerator wont validate

Thanks for the reply. The things you have suggested, and many others, I had already done. While the validation form then appeared and appeared to work, it didn't. I have spent many hours trying to get this to work. As I said, my copy is completely kosher, bought for cash from an impeccable supplier quite a few years ago.

I have, however, managed to solve the problem and everything is now working just fine. I found and downloaded what might be called a 'hack; and it fixed it very easily. I might normally be reluctant to mention this, but when I have to resort to using a 'fix' that some spotty faced adolescent knocked up in his bedroom because one of the mightiest corporations on Earth can't be bothered to sort it out, I feel it's entirely justified.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Microsoft FSX game. I found an older post that other people found helpful and resolved their issue. You can try these steps to see if they help you as well.

MS flight simulator X Acceleration Expansion pack wont activate - Microsoft Community

Here is what their possible solution: First uninstall Acceleration and reboot computer. Then follow the following directions:

1. Run Registry Editor (press Windows Key + R and type regedit and Ok)
2. Expand the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

3. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side.

4. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr and delete any other word that may be next to it and click OK. If it is already PartMgr, then you could try changing it to partmgr.

5. Close Registry Editor.

6. Try installing Acceleration pack and hopefully you should get the registration wizard.

Note: I suggest doing a backup of your system before using regedit. Be careful when making changes.

The FSX Gold Edition is the newer version as it includes the Deluxe Edition and the Acceleration expansion pack.

The activation process can sometimes be tricky, especially on newer operating systems like Windows 11. First, run FSX in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows, such as Windows Vista or Windows 7. If you encounter issues with the Acceleration disk not prompting for a key, you may need to edit the registry or use the FSX Software Licensing System Reset Tool.
