    Microsoft flight simulator won't fully install


    I have been subscribed to Xbox Game Pass for nearly a year now (first ultimate and recently switching to PC) and I have really enjoyed many of the games the service has to offer. However, for the duration of this time I have wanted to play Microsoft Flight Simulator and in fact it was one of the games that first persuaded me to subscribe. However every time I have tried to install and play it, it hasn't worked. The Xbox app first says it is downloading over 100gb, but quickly changes to say it's downloading 1.9 gb as shown in the image below.

    I thought this might be a separate installer however when I try to run it it attempts to launch the full game. After a couple title screens showing the developers and such the game crashes to desktop with no error message at all. However when I open event viewer I can find an error message:

    I cannot make full sense of this but I think the issue is it's trying to fetch files for the game that just haven't been installed.

    I have tried reinstalling it many times as well as resetting the xbox and microsoft store apps. I have tried installing onto different drives and any other solution I could find online. My pc as 16gb of ram, a ryzen 5 5600x, an rtx3060, and plenty of adequate storage.

    My question therefore is how do I get the game to download and install fully?

    Yes you can play this game offline, however you need to download content from it so you can play offline.

    1-Open "My Games & Apps" on the Xbox console by choosing the "My Games & Apps" tile on the Xbox Dashboard or by opening the Xbox Guide and choosing the "My Games & Apps" option.
    2-Find Microsoft Flight Simulator in the "Games" section of "My Games & Apps". Note: If you are installing or pre-installing Microsoft Flight Simulator, the game will immediately appear in the "Games" section and you can do this during installation.
    3-Open the Microsoft Flight Simulator "More Options" menu by highlighting Microsoft Flight Simulator under "My Games & Apps" and pressing the "Menu" button on your Xbox controller.
    4-In the Microsoft Flight Simulator "More options" menu, navigate to the "Manage games and add-ons" option and open it.
    5-On the Microsoft Flight Simulator "Manage Games and Add-ons" screen, highlight and open "Microsoft Flight Simulator" on the right side of the screen.
    In the "Microsoft Flight Simulator" menu, navigate to and select the "Manage installation to (storage device)" option.

    Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox a good idea?

    Microsoft Flight isn't Microsoft Flight Simulator. Different game and it's not as demanding as your think. Most PCs/Laptops should be able to run it.

    Microsoft Flight is the latest installment to the flight genre though.
