    Microsoft Flight Simulator Premium Edition - Installation issue


    I bought MS Flight Simumlator 2020 Premium edition quite some time ago. All the time the disks remained in my drawer as my desktop couldn't run it. I finally just build a new one that beats all the maximum specs but unfortunately I ran into installation problems.

    During the installation of disk 5 it runs into the following error after quite some time

    Feature: DefaultFeature

    Component: Default

    File: D\data6.cab

    Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    An option would be downloading the package from teh microsoft store, however I would prefer to resolve it with my physical package.

    Does this point towards a faulty DVD-rom? If yes, is there a way to have the disk replcaed by MS or are there any other options?

    I had the same issue which meant unstalling the FS file and starting again instslling MS Flight Simulator which is a startup file. That worked for me as previously I was trying to install the Premium Edition.

    • The Deluxe Edition ($89.99 USD) includes everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator’s standard edition plus 5 additional highly accurate planes with unique flight models and 5 additional handcrafted international airports.
