    Good luck setting up controls if you have good ones. I'm a real world pilot and have Cirrus Yoke, MFG Crosswind rudder pedals, and GoFlight Console panel and GoFlight autopilot. I have worked on and off for weeks now trying to get any of these to work and
    have even gotten the GoFlight Interface Tool and tried that, and the beta Fsupic7 to set up controls. Shouldn't have to go thru all this just to get a flight simulator to recognize your controls. I started back in the 80's with the first MS flight simulators
    and presently fly on Prepar3d. So, every once and a while when I feel like trying again I try and set the controls up so I can fly.

    I totally agree. I have CH Products yoke and pedals which have worked for FSX and X-Plane and which worked just fine. MSFS 2020 even with all the work I have done to define functionality and sensitivities is barely flyable. The experience should be about
    the simulation and not about how well I can set up what seems to have been a pretty common setup.

    I bought into the latest and greatest and should have know to wait until all the features have been worked out.

    For now I am continuing to fly X-Plane on my three monitors to practice procedures.

    Maybe MS will get their act together and live up to the hype

    I had trouble installing initially. The hold up was Windows 10 "N" version does not have Media Player installed. You have to install it separately first, then I was able to get it to run. I have an Athlon 3000 cpu and this thing runs fine even though it
    gives you a warning at the beginning. More than adequate to get it up and running. Visually stunning. I can't wait until we get drivers for our other hardware.

    So frustrating. It should not be like this right out of the box so to speak. Even with FS98 and clouds that looked like white wooden blocks, ours mouths were open and we sat there slack-jawed because just as soon as you turned it on, you could take off smoothly
    from Meigs field and experience the perspective of real flight.

    I think one of the posters on our thread has it right. They probably cherry-pick beta testers that will tell them what they want to hear. If they had asked a real word pilot what they thought of controllability, they would have received an 'F!'

    Roy I completely agree. I am a real-world Cessna 172 pilot. A few years ago, I spent a few extra dollars to purchase a Cirrus Precision Flight Control yoke and higher-end Saitek rudder pedals that have worked flawlessly, as advertised in BOTH FSX and Prepare
    3Dv4.5 for every aircraft in the sim, and which can be easily calibrated via the sim or with FSUIPC for a smooth, realistic flight experience that is an indispensably useful training tool for any licensed pilot. But these controllers have been rendered useless
    in FS2020. And I am quite familiar with where and how to access and edit controller sensitivity and dead-zone settings in FS2020. Nothing works. Aileron and rudder axes are uncontrollably jerky, snap-rolling my aircraft almost inverted, or snap-yawing the
    airplane off the runway with the most minor of inputs, no matter how or where I set the sensitivity sliders in FS2020. Every takeoff is met with a stall warning after a zig-zagging takeoff roll. And if I do manage to get the aircraft airborne, landings are
    more like loss-of-control real world emergencies than anything smooth, enjoyable, or realistic.

    I think FS 2020 is a X-Box gamer's sim. Great graphics. Super-realistic aircraft (though gone is the ability to undock panels like the G1000 and drag it to a separate monitor below your windscreen view), scenery and weather I hoped to use as a training tool
    before a real-world VFR flight to an unfamiliar destination before I tried it for real in a 172. But no joy. I'm not going to dumb-down to cheaper, unrealistic hand-held controllers or FS9 joysticks and basic pedals just to make this work. That's not how we
    fly. I wonder if they beta-tested this with real-world pilots? It's hard to imagine.
