Discus and support Microsoft fixing the issue of incompatibility between laptop's mini display port and HDMI... in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have this issue for some time, and found that direct HDMI port on PC communicate with HDMI port on TV, BUT in my laptop there is ONLY mini display...     Microsoft fixing the issue of incompatibility between laptop's mini display port and HDMI...


    I have this issue for some time, and found that direct HDMI port on PC communicate with HDMI port on TV, BUT in my laptop there is ONLY mini display port and I tried to connect it thru adaptor, and it does not work. I tried all recomendations on the forum-no
    result, and I recall that before of installing several updates on Windows it worked, but now it does not. It is Lenovo thinkpad L450 which came with Win8.1 and possibility of upgrating to Win10. So if I'd like to reinstall original drivers, I'd need to reformat
    HD, install recovery disks with drivers and win8.1, PURCHASE version of Win10 (Microsoft stopped supplying downloads of Win10 for free), install from the beginning my soft and data, because I can not backup and then recover everything-it will return that incompatible
    drivers. So, I do not know what to do, because the mighty Microsoft does not wish to fix their mistake

    For Windows 10:

    If you have previously upgraded your PC to Windows 10, now your PC have a license for it, you can download the Media Creation Tool for free to install a fresh new Windows 10 OS or upgrade your (reverted back) 8.1 OS without problem.

    For mini HDMI port:

    maybe a stupid question, but are you sure that this adapter is 100% working today? maybe is faulty?

    I had the same thoughts, and bought new adaptor with the same result- do not work, so, I returned it. How many adaptors should I buy to convince you that the problem is in soft. And if I download window ( if microsoft let me to do it, because it has
    some stupid contract with Lenovo)and my pc at the time clean, how can I be sure that driver in Recovery CD is good. It is more simple for you to fix the issue, because I saw many people have the same problem

    I tryed the hdmi cable to pc with direct hdmi input-it works, and I tried this HDMI cable with MAC-works, so, issue is exactly with incompataability of mini display port either with pc, or with hdmi cable, but because it worked before updatings (i do not
    know exactly which one)-it is a software problem, so, Microsoft should fix it

    Hi, my name is Fernando and I am an independent consultant for Microsoft products.

    Yes you can use the iMac as a monitor, you'll just need the mini-display-to-HDMI adapter connected to the back of your iMac.

    So, just connect the other side of the mini display cord to the corresponding port in your adapter box and c onnect your HDMI cable from your Xbox HDMI port to the HDMI port of your adapter.

    Sorry, in most cases this can't be done. Most laptop's HDMI port's are outputs only - that is, they can only display the image from the computer onto another display, they can't be used as an input. Some, more expensive laptop's have HDMI in, but they
    are few and far between. And no, you can't turn your laptop HDMI out into an Input.

    Not possible, sorry.
