Microsoft Family weekly activity report errors/anomalies

    i love the idea of the weekly screen time and activity reports. However, something is not quite right. We are 2 parents and 2 kids. The kids get their own report and the parents get both kids reports. Only;

    - the kids both receive duplicate reports (i think with diffeent data in each)

    - i receive different data to my husband, and even the days seem wrong - i.e. showing my son mostly playing xbox friday and saturday rathe than saturday and sunday....its all across by a day.

Whats going on? We are from the uk but now live in Houston. I checked and all our account regions are USA/Texas. (With the chat feature last night it was suggested that could be off and the reason why the reports are wrong. I just checked all our settings
    now).

This seems so much more hard work than Apple screen time features!

    :)

Glaring errors in Family Activity Reports!

Every week I get reports on my children's xbox activity, and every week the reports indicate that they were playing games that _I_ was playing on my own profile, when they just happened to be logged in on the same xbox. I have verified that this is happening
( a six year old girl is NOT going to be playing three hours of "Stick of Truth," for example!). I am certain that my sons are not playing SOT because they play Destiny exclusively.

This also introduces another frustration of mine: when I log in to play the last game I was playing, the screen is full of links to the last games played by my sons on their own profiles. Why is that? Isn't the point of having separate profiles to keep our
    activity separated from each other?

Hey Lucy thanks for brining this issue to us!

    We suggest these steps:

    1. Go to
      account.microsoft.com/family
and sign in with your Microsoft account.
    2. Find your child's name and select Activity.
    3. If Activity reporting is turned Off, use the switch to turn it
      On.
If it is set to on turn it off and sign out. Sign back in and switch it back to on and it should clear all this up. Give it a shot and let us know if that helped!

It looks like my kids get cc’d into a report email to me (mom), as well as a report email to their dad, which is why they receive it twice. No idea why this is necessary or how to change that.

The report their dad sees looks to be most likely the ‘correct’ version, based on the hours shown for each day for my son last week.

My version looks across by a day, hence the total hours on my report dont quite match the total hours on dads version.

We are ALL 4 set to the same region.

(For some reason we receive my daughters report on a saturday and sons on a Sunday. She doesnt use the xbox much so ive not noticed anything major with hers).

  7. I would open up two windows and have each parent sign in . And check the settings for each to see if they are set up the same , there could be some carry over from switching reigons

Head on over to the Family Section for Microsoft accounts at: https://account.microsoft.com/family

From there you can select the child, and set content restrictions (including removing all restrictions). You can also set screen time limits, and set up a weekly report of your child's Microsoft activities.

    ENJOY!
