Microsoft family time limit across all games.

I'm trying to set up a brand new family and I have a question about screen time limits. I see that you can set it up so that your children can use the X-Box only during a certain period of time of the day. I also see that you can set it up so that your
children can play for a certain amount of time on a particular game. I'm wondering if it is possible limit time across all games.

The current options are virtually useless, especially for kids that have an xbox and a gaming PC that they use for school work.

Having to have 2 accounts for my son, one for gaming (with a screen time limit) and an account where I'll block games, with no limit.

It's naff though, a cumulative games limit would be far far better

Thanks for the reply. I had thought of that but very often the kids can't play during a particular part of the day, particularly during the weekdays when they have school. It's all over the place depending on whether their schoolwork lasts into the afternoon,
chores, et. al. That's why I was hoping that I could set the time limit across all games.

I'm not sure if you can limit the time across all games, hopefully another person will know the answer to this better than I, but you can use the feature to limit the time of the day that they can use Xbox in the same way. If you set their Xbox usage up
to only allow them to play, say, from 2-4pm each day, then you can effectively limit their total game time to 2 hours as well. Hope this helps!

if the accounts are combined to each other via a family etc. Then you should be able to limit app or game time via for example the steps mentioned here:

If the accounts are not in a family together yet, then you may have to do that prior being able to manage any Child accounts in the family, depending on the current situation this link could be useful too:

You will have to ask the family account manager to log into the main account and free up screen time on your account.
