Microsoft Family Safety - unable to verify

hello

receive an error message below when trying to add money to child account
"Contact us at Microsoft support We’re having trouble processing your payment and we’d like to get it sorted out. Get more info"

the child account in question has two banners at the top asking to sign in again on windows pc and xbox with a button on the right that says 'Fix It'

clicking the 'Fix It' button shows a box which then says to go to 'aka dot ms/familyverify' from each device and follow the instructions... opened up Bing on xbox, typed that in, and it just opens up the Microsoft Store..

have not had a problem in the past, it just seems to want to do this familyverify thing now..

any help much appreciated.

thanks for responding.

I'm not sure i quite follow you though - I do not ask for anyone to add a balance to the child account, or access any data, I am asking for assistance in being able to verify the account on either the windows pc or xbox and providing some background information.

the aka.ms/familyverify link that i am asked to go to, simply does nothing on either pc or xbox, and every time i return to the family safety page under the childs account, a banner states that the account has not been verified.

When you say this must be done from a computer, do you have to be logged in to the computer as the child? My kids do not have Microsoft user accounts on my computer at the present time (though they have in the past). When I log in to Edge and go to aka.ms/familyverify, I get a popup message that says, "This site is trying to open Microsoft family features." When I click on the "open" button, I get another popup box that says "Sign in so you don't miss out." When I click the "Sign in" button on that popup, I am prompted for my Windows laptop PIN. This happens whether I am logged into Edge as myself, my child, or in an InPrivate window.

Has anyone found a fix? It's been very frustrating. But I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one!

I too, have this problem. I believe it is also impacting Minecraft. My son logs in, nothing functions right. It's very glitchy. A friend tries to join and is frozen out. The game fails repeatedly. I uninstall. Reinstall. Delete local data. Reboot. Reboot. Reboot. Then go check his account and it is plastered with all these verify messages. I follow the links. nothing. I search the web, all results are failures. I think "Why don't I just remove him from the family group and manage his time old-school." Not happening there either. Cannot remove his account. Cannot unlink him from any device. Cannot create a new account and have it work.

Absolutely NOTING posted online or from MS addresses these issues. It's one giant cluster f***.
