Microsoft family invitations and controls

I am beyond frustrated with microsoft family settings. I bought the xbox after using nintindo switch which has seemless patental controls. Microsft DOES NOT have easy to use or seemless controls.

1. 13 year old can leave the family and then do whatever he wants.

2. Set up now won’t work because every new invitation I send “is expired” three seconds after I send it.

3. The app is combursome to use

4. Every reply I see on this forum blames the user. But we ALL have the same concerns.

please help with actual advise that fixes the problem. And PLEASE spend aome time in development of anfix to help promote the safety of children. There are people out there who will take advantage of your weak product to harm children.

please answer 2 first as that is my primary frustration today

How do I deal with the fact that he is “out” of the family every night if he “can’t” take himself out. It is still happening.

also the invite to rejoin is always “expired”. How do I fix that?

i use parental controls for 4 of my 5 kids

they cannot just leave the family without permission from the parent.

i use family controls under the website to control xbox and pc, really easy and not cumbursome

where are you trying to setup now that sends the codes?

Try this part; using your own account, go to account.microsoft.com/family and create a new family group. Invite the child account into that family group as a member.

Then you can control all the settings you need.

Here's what I'll suggest;

Create the child's account Independently of yours first. Just go to Xbox.com and sign up the child's account.

Afterwards using your own account, go to account.microsoft.com/family and create a new family group. Invite the child account into that family group as a member.

Then you can control all the settings you need.

Yes, it is possible to add additional adults to the main account on Xbox. This will allow them to share the same account and have access to the same content, including the ability to play games while the main account is signed in on a different console (also known as "Home Xbox").

To add another adult to the main account on Xbox, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select Profile & system.

Select Settings.

Select Account.

Select Family settings.

Select Add to family.

Enter the email address of the person you want to add, and then select Send invite.

The person you invited will receive an email with instructions on how to accept the invite and create a Microsoft account if they don't already have one. Once they accept the invite, they will be added to your family group and will be able to share content with the main account.

Note: To add another adult to the main account, they must be at least 18 years old and have a Microsoft account. Children under 18 can also be added to the family group, but they will be subject to the parent's or guardian's permissions and restrictions.
