But one thing you could try, if you can, is creating another Microsoft account for your child, and trying to migrate using that one to do the procedure.

The Microsoft account that you use for Minecraft, Is it added as child account into a Family Group ?

I forgot to ask. Are you using a child account or an account that's added to a Microsoft Family as a member?

This page here should have details on how to remove a child from your Microsoft Account family. That covers doing
it via the browser or on an Xbox One console. With that, once the child is removed from a family, they should be able to be added to another family account.
