Microsoft edge on Xbox one problem

No error message except the ones I see on the websites telling me that my browser is too old and need to be updated. I dont have these error messages with my older Xbox. In addition to all the steps you told me I also deleted all cookies on MS edge settings.

I have now a weird thing going on after I did the soft factory reset of the console: now when I want to load a game, I always have 1st a message telling me to wait while my game is prepared. Then when trying to load a second time the game, it work.

Still not working on my Xbox one X after following all the steps you told me but I managed to make it work by using my older Xbox one.

I dont know if the site use flash. I visit this site since 5 years about a video game I play since all this time.

3 examples of problems I see now on the site:

- If a thread have lets say 500 answers, to see the last one, I need to scroll all the 500 from the 1st. Only option is "previous page" and "next page". Before I was able to go directly to whatever answer number I wanted.

- I also cant see who liked a post, I just see the number of likes but not the names anymore.

- I also cant see anymore picture screenshots from other users. Only text now.

The exact message I can read on the site about the problem is: "Unfortunately your browser is too old to work on this site. Please upgrade your browser to view rich content, log in and reply."

Another problem on a site I visit often, its the ESPN site to look at sports results. Now when entering site it say: "You have reached a degraded version of ESPN.com because you're using an unsupported version of internet explorer. For a complete ESPN.com experience, please upgrade or use a supported browser." Never had problems in years before that.

I dont know. I tend to struggle with new thechnology so I must be missing something. 😅 Maybe these sites are "under work" and all will fix by itself soon?! At least, thanks to you, I know now that there is no problem with Microsoft edge, so I will just wait to see if the problem disappear.

You're welcome and thanks for the update. If that didn't work, we may need to reset the console keeping your games and apps.

Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Errors like that too old means you NEED to address it with your webmaster

It means their code is ancient

Internet Explorer is ancient and no longer supported by any website

Espn well contact the webmaster

I just visited espn np

If it's a popup then you NEED to clear your cache and cookies

This is why you don't visit phishy websites

Popups follow you everywhere

Edge and chromium are recognized user agents

However I think you better not use www.espn.com but m.espn.com which is probably where you are making the mistake

The reason why is ancient websites have 2 websites

MOBILE and desktop

Consoles browsers are closed and sandboxed they don't run flash and aren't meant for media rich browsing really

Mobile websites if setup properly will recognize mobile browsers and use html5 instead of flash and pretty sure certificates ain't an issue with espn

You are better off.using espn app

Most likely your website isn't recognizing your chromium

You can check settings make sure you aren't using desktop mode or user agent

Really though your should be using APPS for media

For.forums.then mostly likely a rogue popup

Cause even IE can run forums.and we are talking about 10 year old Internet Explorer with decade old certificates

If you are getting degraded msg then it's the user agent not being recognized by espn

Mobile websites will load automatically

Mobile browsers don't get degraded

I think it's you visiting the wrong site

Using the desktop site rather then mobile

So if you add m.espn.com that will solve the problem
