Microsoft Edge in Xbox Series s system os

Jesse thank you for your response. The Microsoft Edge that is available through the Microsoft Store on Xbox Series S. Is the same one I have installed and says that it can't update. I know Xbox uses a modified Windows operating system and something is blocking this update.

I’ve asked the Edge and Xbox teams to hopefully address this with official answers for you. At least this would let the developers know that there are requested features which can then be considered in a future update, improving the experience for everyone.

In the meantime, can you confirm both the console OS version and Edge app version you’re currently on, please?

To find the app info on your Series S; select the 3 dots (…) in the top right corner > About Microsoft Edge, or go to edge://settings/help from the address bar.

To find the console OS version; go to Settings > System > Console info, and you can always verify when the last system update was with the exact time and date in the latest console update status.

The app version I currently have for Microsoft Edge on my console is:

Version 101.0.1210.56 (Official Build) (64-bit)

with the OS version (Insider Build):

10.0.22000.4976 (xb_flt_2206co.22000.4976.220715-1530)

Also, what’s the specific mouse and keyboard you’re using on your Series S? Microsoft, Logitech, Razer, etc.

I’d recommend to report the features you’d like to see as feedback. Provide feedback to the Xbox Team - there’s a smart way to reproduce any errors with tracing where you can include all the diagnostic data. You may add [Xbox Forums] to the title of the report, then share this here once complete.

As this is involving the Edge app, it would be a good idea to make the Edge team aware of this issue as well. Select the 3 dots (…) in the app > Help and feedback (the app info can also be found here) > Send feedback. Include the exact URL (if you only notice the cursor disappear with certain websites), any relevant diagnostic data, and a screenshot and/or clip if you’re able to. If you link to the feedback in either the Xbox or Edge report, this would help both teams to take a closer look into this together.

I have new Xbox Series S console, it have old egde browser with EdgeHTML engine. How I should update it to chromium version?

When I open the browser, using Xbox Series S, in the upper right corner there are 3 dots (...). From those dots a box opens saying it was unable to update the browser and to reinstall Microsoft Edge. The link takes you to a Microsoft page where you can download Edge, but you have to first select a Windows version. Xbox is not listed as it's a modified Windows operating system.

If you "X out" of the notification Window saying it was unable to update and to reinstall Edge. There is a red notification tag on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner indicating something needs to be done. When you click on the 3 dots at the top of that menu it says "Microsoft Edge is out of date". When you click on the message it opens the box telling you to reinstall Microsoft Edge.

As far as I'm aware Edge on console is updated automatically when a new Xbox console System OS update is released. Usually every month for General Availability release

The version I'm using right now, on a Series X, Version 104.0.1293.44 (Official build) (64-bit) is the latest available to Alpha Skip Ahead Insider members.

I have never gotten any notification to update Edge on console.
