Microsoft Edge Crashing Regularly

I mean this is getting insane.. now they def dont give a rats with xbox one X coming out.

 

I think i found the fix, ( at least for me ) in the ME settings, theres a box that was left unchecked for me that i now that checkmarked. something to the effect of " use pages formatted for mobile devices." I think it makes ME use less memory and wont overload.

yeah, but then it doesn't let you play the videos....

 

I F@*#ing love my XB1 but ever since this update I swear to the mighty gods of Ragnarok!! That I will destroy my XB1 it's soooo goddamn irritating that a stupid internet app can't even keep itself open for 5 F-ing minutes just to watch a video or movie!!!
Streaming has gone to **** sooo bad my wife is telling me to get a PS4!!! But F that!!! But just for entertainment I might consider it now. Because ME Is the dumbest thing ever right next to the **** that invented the slap chop!!! Like why!!!!! Did you guys

They obviously do not have a fix for it. This is to stop people browsing videos on websites that let you watch for free, which usually use silverlight, java script, flash player and do not always support Html 5. Ultimately this isn't our problem and how
are we supposed to know, if the content is easily accessible, what's okay to view or not to view. Essentially they're being money grabbing smart alecs and I'm boycotting Microsoft when my Xbox One eventually dies. Which of course, it will. I literally type
stuff into Google and it comes up. If they have such an issue with it, then maybe they aught to resrategize. Instead of just outright lying to paying and loyal customers about functionality. Screw you Microsoft, your browsers have always been horrendous as
it is anyway and your new business game is disgusting with just about everything. Thanks a whole lot for nothing.

 

Because the only sites that stream video are streaming illegal movies and whatnot?

Anyway, I'm having the same issue when streaming video. Every five minutes or so.

 

Having the same issue. Like everyone else has already mentioned, it seems like a missing extension issue (Java, Flash, etc). I would like the option to disable an extension rather than not having it all together and I think the settings in ME, on the XB1
and XB1S are a little too light in general. Perhaps the update at the end of the year will fix these issues?

 

I'm having the same issue and it seems like it started after the newest update. It worked fine before the update had not problem watching movies. My Playstation works better. Get it together Microsoft!

 

Yes, I have the same problem. Microsoft Edge crashes every 10-15 min while i'm watching streaming videos and pushes back to initial screen. What the F is going on? Are the any fixes in the nearest future for this SHT?

 

I am having this issue as well. Same as everyone else. Except in my case, the site I am watching things on was working fine, I could stream for hours with no issues. Until today where edge decided that it won't go for more than 5 minutes without closing
itself... Highly annoying, I would like to see an MS rep at least comment on this situation...

 

i found a good fix to this issue, called buying a ps4. ive never had issues streaming shows or movies on its browser just goes to show how much better of a console a ps4 is to a xbox, i own both so this isnt a fan boy rant to be clear.

 

I just experienced this last night while trying to watch a movie and some series. The movie/series would play for maybe 10min and then completely shutdown and take me back to Home Screen. These are the same sites I have been using for the past year now.
Why all of the sudden would it happen now???

I still have my Xbox One console that I purchased last year and recently purchased another. Even though this happened only last night, based on all the comments. If Microsoft does not resolve this minor yet stupid problem in one month. There is literally
nothing stopping me from SELLING the one and RETURNING the other to buy a PS4!

 

This issue started from that moment few months ago when MS launched big update when changed XBOX interface.

Video runs for 10-12 minutes, then Edge closes and returns to home screen. The video is HTTP streamed - no difference if it's x264 or x265 codec. Plays the same time - 10-12 minutes.

Sometimes (I didn't catch when) video after the restart of Edge will go flawlessy.

Browser will not hang if I'll scroll it 10 seconds forward (or backwards) at that time, when it should hang (each 10 minutes of video). The small cross on controller.

So I guess XBOX guys can't deal with buffering memory overflow and freeing it when it has to be freed (in my situation - 10 minutes of buffer). When I scroll video - the buffer is destroyed, memory freed, created new empty buffer and loaded with fresh content.

There is option to buy PS4 (by the way my Gold subscription ends in a month), but I DON'T WANT TO DO IT.

Hard decision - to spit to the buggy XBOX and watch movies on the TV's internal browser and wait until some very good guy ports Chrome or Firefox to MSuxy XBOX or switch to PS4?

I'd like to know - what MS thinks about it? They should try to hire programmers who will fix this "supahard" issue.

Do they test their software or not? Looks like they don't.

 

I've done everything you can think of I've evan factory reset my Xbox and it still don't solve the issue
