Microsoft Digital TV tuner not detected

Was set up and working fine. Turned Xbox one on the other day and oneguide couldn't find the tuner stick. Been through TV setup and it doesn't detect the stick. Unplugged stick, recycled the power and still no sign of life.

I have no confidence that the stick is bust - makes no sense but requesting a new one through Xbox support doesn't work either. Anyone else had similar issues? Shouldn't have to buy another TV stick to diagnose the or resolve the problem.

Microsoft just needs to release the digital TV tuner in the US now to complete the tradeoff.

Microsoft is releasing a digital tv tuner(UK, France, Italy, Spain and Germany) in October for users in the previously mentioned countries to experiences TV through an over the air digital terrestrial tv tuner. The prices are £24.99 in the UK and €29.99

Have you tried it in another usb port, and try uninstalling the one guide and install it again, see if that works.

 

try the side port, heard some people could only get it working there

 

Thanks both. Have tried all USB ports including the side one. Have reset TV settings in Oneguide. There's no way of uninstalling Oneguide that I'm aware of. Have tried full restart, full power cycle including unplugging the brick etc.

 

Go to one guide, press the start button and manage app, see if you can reset it there, or even delete any updates.

But yes very strange, you are the second person to have this isue in the last few weeks, can i ask did you by the stick new or second hand, if new is it still under warrenty.

 

Funnily enough I had a sort of similar issue recently, for the last few years my Xbox has been able to control my TV/SKY box easily, then since Friday nothing was working.

The only way I could get it too work was to reset the TV setting in Oneguide (think that was it)

Before I found that setting, every timer I tried to get the Kinect to work the TV, it just failing.

 

Stick was brand new at Christmas. I guess I'll be sending it back to Amazon then! Just not at all confident that it's broken. Feels more like a software issue to me.

 

^^Oh well, at least you can get a new one and hopefully that works for you, at least this way youwill know if it is the stick or the software.

And funnily enough a quick look at some of the amazon reviews and some people seem to be having the same issue, just stopped working.
