Microsoft customer support refusing to support their customer?

I purchased an Elite Series 2 controller, and included with the controller was a redeem code for 14 days of Xbox game pass. Today we tried to redeem this code for my eldest's PC to see if these games even run on his rig... except we received a message that the code has already been redeemed.

So begins the customer support journey where (after much complaining about this process I'll admit) I provide proof of the receipt, box and redeem card only to be "hung up" on by the agent after I was asked to submit all my proof of purchase for a second time. Apparently my protest of this process was too much and my picture taking and uploading was too slow.

On my second go around, I provide the same proof to the next agent. This agent tells me the code was redeemed before my controller purchase date and that I'll have to go to the store I purchased it at for a new code.

Well, the store I purchased the controller at is not going to open a new $180 box to give me a code (if they're even in the boxes still), nor do I believe they should have to. This is a Microsoft/XBOX promotion after all. Microsoft printed the redeem cards and included them in their product. Why am I crazy for looking to Microsoft to issue me a new redeem code?

So the agent said he couldn't issue me a code or he would lose his job. I asked him for his supervisors name and contact info so i could go make him hate life until he does what is right. He did not give me any escalation info at all.

So, I'm up against a process that has no room for logic. Good will and good faith are not in the script, so where can I actually speak to someone who can actually fix this issue? I cannot find the contact info for the Microsoft director of global customer support services (there used to be one, I reached out once when I had account issues that this person was able to resolve)

I COULD purchase 3 months for a dollar right now, but now I'm on this journey for the principal of the matter. I mean, 3 months for a dollar right now and I can't even get this company to give me a new 14 day trial code? What this tells me is that as a customer who has spent thousands supporting this company since pre Xbox PC games then the original Xbox and live service then into a 2nd generation of gamers in my family.... We're not even worth less than a dollar to this company?

Make it right Microsoft, you have my contact info.

    :)
