My Xbox One is shutting down on occasion and giving a overheat message when it boots back up. This is only happening with Journey to Savage Planet though, and my console never sounds like the fans are running hard. I have a slight suspicion the game might
be crashing and giving me the wrong error notice.

I can boot it back up again immediately and play for hours with no problems. Anyway, my question. My console was purchased from Amazon and is less than 12 months old. I am sure if I contact them, they would replace the console no questions asked.

But would my Microsoft Complete warranty transfer over to the replacement console? My other option of course is to send it back to Microsoft for repair and be without it for a couple of weeks. Needless to say, I'd prefer a swap with Amazon for a new console!
    Microsoft Complete warranty transferable? :)

    What do you reckon? Cheers

    :)

    Hi Steve,

This doesnt actually sound like a console issue, the Console itself will shutdown to prevent itself from getting destroyed and to protect it.

You say this is only happening with one game and one section, which happened to me with Cuisine Royale when it was in game preview, couldn't load into a match without the game causing my xbox to shutdown with a heat warning.

Also, just make extra sure you console has plenty of breathing room and plenty of ventilation.

If you have plenty of ventilation, and the game still causes the crashes, I'd suggest mailing the developers, and try showing them a clip with the best description you can of what is happening, so they can patch and fix the coding if it is their side.

Yeah I've been sat thinking since I posted this and I think you are right. Plus it may mean they re-paste the cpu/gpu? I guess with it having Complete warranty, they won't just swap it for a refurb as that would mess up the serial number.

I've checked the vents and they are really clean. I actually have a large Philips air cleaner right next to my consoles. I bought it to help with my asthma, but it has the added benefit of keeping dust to a minimum around my TV and consoles :)

If you have Microsoft complete I would go through them for anything that is warranty. Plus unless it's been less than 30 days Amazon normally doesn't do returns on most items. Normally it's shorter than that for electronics. I don't think Microsoft would
transfer the warranty either. While I am not familiar with Microsoft complete normally warranty plans such as these cannot be transferred to other devices or other people. When I would get an over heat error on my original Xbox normally the fans were not
running full out when the console would shut down. They would run full out normally on boot up and when starting a game. My problem was dust and it had to actually be opened and cleaned by a certified repair shop. You might make sure you have your Xbox in
a well ventilated area and that nothing is blocking your vents or exhaust ports.

slight ticking/crackling noise from Xbox one console

Mine was definitely a bad fan. I returned it to the Microsoft Store and they replaced it no problem. They transferred my buy-up warranty as well (Microsoft complete or whatever they call the 2-year added replacement plan). No more noise.

Microsoft Complete for Xbox Elite Controller with Accidental Damage Coverage (3 years) never moved to replaced controller

Then repair it under regular warranty

I went thru the same proccess

Only 1 replacement for user damage liquid

If you claimed regular warranty then it would transfer but not complete
