Dear community and Microsoft we as gamers are being taken for mugs and it's getting rediculace we need to make a stand aginst these games and company's. Activision and it's developers iare robbing you of money. WW2 has already been done and didn't need a
naf remake. Bf1 is WW1 so it's sort of new and isn't trying to take every last penny. We all know that COD had its hay day in MW2 and is now dead. They are no longer creative and a shaving pay to win down our throats. I'm not excluding ea in this what so ever.
There are many more company's like this. Almost all AAA developers/Publishers. They clearly don't care for the gamer and the worst culprit of this is Ubisoft. Anyway they make 1 or 2 games that are good and smash out the same thing re-skined each year or so
and then proceed to make half **** games of the rest,(battlefield,COD,Assassins creed,Farcry,FIFA) they are only good because they are redone so much. All these company's are as bad as one another. Microsoft are trying to make a difference with there insider
program witch allows new developers to get recognised. (Not limited to Xbox) we should all ideally stop paying/playing their games and make a stand as the prices are rising and the pay to win is increasing. They are taking us for mugs and it's bad that most
gamers don't care or are oblivious to it. It's only getting worse and it makes us look like idiots. We need to stop this and stop letting them rip us off COD is by far the worst for this and it's proven by the supply drops. Even worse they are remaking games
and ruining them. This is a remake of WAW that tbh looks lazy and cheep.

    :)

    Thank you Microsoft

It was a good show for sure.

Forza (Turn 10) should give out free stuff since they released an unfinished game.

    Exactly.

If you don't like something then don't buy it.

Gaming is big business now & these developers/publishers all want to make money.

As long as people keep buying their games then they'll keep making them.

Wait for sales. Main reason I am not getting Destiny 2 is I don't feel like paying two hundred dollars for a game that will probably have a complete edition for sixty.

  7. A bit like said already - every purchase is saying "I like what you are doing".

Those get ripped off the most are those buying digital from MS store - prices don't go down as quickly as retail does.

Any game - wait 6, 12, 18 months and buy boxed game from retail - and you pay 1/3 of release price or even less.

But this depends a bit - if playing online with other people - it might be better to pay up earlier - guess not many people left playing with after a year.

But sometimes venting a bit helps too....

To be honest I would rather pay MS more for digital content then to save a few bucks at gamestop due to poor customer service. I live in an isolated part of the city where the closest place to purchase games is a forty five minute walk so I don't see MS
as a rip off but more of a convenience in most cases.

I find Gamestop really expensive, usually. They have this trade in thingy which is good, but otherwise MSRP all the way.

I just buy at online store like Amazon and delivered to my door/mailbox by UPS. Bought about 250 games since 2010 - all boxed stuff at really good prices.

Same money would last for less than 100 games if digital downloads.

And talking about which beasts to feed - as this topic suggests - buying digital by more and more people, also say
"I don't care about retailer competition, why don't you publisher start your own shops for worldwide sales, so we don't have any alternative anymore - one price set by publisher and that is what you need to pay".

Both Playstation store and Xbox Live store tell a story what will happend in the long run as you feed the digital download monster.

Prices way over retail boxed versions - and with boxed versions gone what is left?

DL is convenient in some ways, no disk to enter to play, a couple of hours shorter delivery time etc.

Boxed retail version - 2-3 games more for the same money, but wait for 1-2 days for delivery,

See, I think you forgot to put something that the beginning of your "Great Wall of Text", and that was three simple words "In my opinion"

See everything you posted is your opinion, there are millions of gamers all around the world that love the CoD games and are quite happy to buy it year in year out. Does that make the developer lazy or the game stupid? of course not.

At the end of the day if you don't like these games, don't buy them, but should your opinion mean that millions of people around the world shouldn't be allowed to buy the games either?

The reason online prices for both Xbox and PlayStation are higher than retail is because both Microsoft and Sony needs retail to sell their hardware. Imagine if all Xbox games were say $5 cheaper on Xbox Live than in store, do you think the likes of Wallmart
or GameStop would just take it? of course not, they would overnight stop sell the hardware.

  12. Do they really need those physical retail stories given the huge popularity of Amazon and other online retailers?

As to digital prices going up under Microsoft and Sony if brick and mortar stores died, that'd be because they don't allow competing stores on their consoles. Digital has caused the prices of PC games to drop, on physical copies as well, because there are more
options for the consumer to buy from on that platform.

The very nature of consoles, being locked to one provider for convenience, hurts them in the long term if you look to a digital only future.

What you say makes sense - they maybe are not allowed to compete with retail.

And hardware part - they can keep prices - as I don't ever saw Xbox Live store selling consoles - but maybe I missed something.

So for digital products - it can be supplied by a single store worldwide - publishers own!!!

But if publisher open their own shops and not even list games for sale at Xbox store - they are alone setting prices.

I know a couple of games I have are not on Xbox store.

If they can avoid it - why discount 60% or so off to distributors/wholesalers - taking from own profit?

The more we buy digital - the more we feed that boxed versions disappear.

Some convenience - but really high prices and no ability to sell off or trade in for other games in store like Gamestop, and no ability to buy used either.

And then consider amount of data and internet you must have for digital.

Your right that digital games has caused the prices in brick and mortar to drop, but that's because there are so many digital stores, you have Steam, GOG, Origin, Gamergate, heck even publishers them selves are selling there own games on their own site.

"The very nature of consoles, being locked to one provider for convenience, hurts them in the long term if you look to a digital only future."

Not sure what you mean by that, if you mean it hurts the consumer, then ye your right. To buy games digitally it costs usually about £5 - £10 more to buy a game digitally than if we bought it from Amazon or GAME.

If you mean it hurts the publisher, then not really, the publisher gets their cut wherever you buy it from.

If you mean it hurts the console manufacturer, your totally wrong. The store owner (be it Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft) actually gets more money from the sale of a game from Xbox Live or PSN because the money that would normally go to GAME or Amazon or Gamestop
is no going straight to Microsoft or Sony.
