Microsoft betrayed early adopters.

Today I saw something that enraged me.

I saw an Xbox one Bundle, WITH A KINECT, and a game, for $315. Yes, $315. Wanna know how much I paid for my Xbox one with Kinect with 1 game At launch?Over $600.

Granted, it is refurbished, but refurbs arent used, theyre like new. It is for all intents and purpose, a brand new Xbox one with irregular packaging.

So this is basically the same bundle I bought from GameStop, except this one was over $300 cheaper.

First of all, this should not be possible. A console should not be less than half it's original price a mere year and a half later. Even the new bundles don't exceed $349, and I've seen some insane deals where those come with a year of live. To put this
into basic terms, Early adopters got *** harder than any other generation of early adopters, save for perhaps the virtual Boy.

In Microsoft's desperation to catch up to the PS4, they have the slashed the price of the Xbox one by an unreal amount. You can almost get a bundle cheaper than a vanilla PS4. This is not a regular price drop which Early adopters should expect, this is a
last ditch attempt to not be completely dominated this generation. SPOILER ALERT!: Microsoft, you already lost this generation by making your console less powerful and with the disasterous reveal in 2013. No amount of damage control will help.

I sat by and watched Kinect be dropped, making it no longer mandatory just meant no games are going to use It. Yet you still insisted that everyone until recently buy a Kinect with their Xbox because it was such a core part of the vision. Now, it's a Just
Dance accessory at best, and a $100 paperweight at worst. You promised us that you would never remove Kinect from the SKU, and that we would see Kinect integration with A LOT of games. All lies. Now, no developer is going to touch Kinect with a ten foot pole
now that the install base is fragmented.

That, combined with these unreasonable price drops, demands compensation to the early adopters you royally *** by selling us an overpriced console with a now useless accessory. Give us a Kinect rebate program, Give us a year or two of Live for free, Give
us digital store credit; Give US something. Because the only reward I have to show for being an early adopter is over paying for my console by almost $300, being lied to, and having Kinect erased from relevancy. I will NEVER again buy any microsoft console
or product PERIOD, not just avoid being an early adopter. You have shown everyone that you cannot be trusted and that you can literaply say things like "we will never unbundle Kinect" and then do exactly that a mere 3 months later. You are the most ruthless,
dishonest company I have ever encountered and ever will encounter. I am actually considering joining in on the Initiative to start a class action lawsuit for false advertising and price manipulation.

also, the forum system in place here has got to be the worst I've ever seen. Not only does auto correct, auto capitalize and auto complete not work for some inexplicable reason, (im on a smartphone) it also lags incredibly hard, making typing this post a
chore. All in all, I hope Microsoft collapses sooner than later.

You would be mad too if you paid about $600 for something that had it's priced slashed Almost in half BARELY a year later. Early adopters were literally robbed and no amount of "well I had fun with mine" will make it right. You had fun with what? Using Kinect
to say Xbox record that? We were sold the idea that Kinect would be a cornerstone of the Xbox one vision. We were promised new motion gaming experiences where the game would read our heart rate or something dumb like that. But it was all lies. Kinect doesn't
matter, that $200 you wasted doesn't matter. Fanboys are going to tear me a new one, but everything I saw is true. Early adopters DID get ***. Where is our ambassador program?

little over dramatic there, this bundle is a refurbished console(which means it was broken or defective) and a now $30 game, on Groupon.

but if you paid over $600 for a $500 console and a $60 game (so $560), i might be mad as well, but for different reasons.

and i wouldn't say that Xbox has "lost" this generation yet, most people would have said the same thing about the PS3, but still ended up neck and neck with the 360.

 

I don't care what you think, so entertaining you isn't a priority for me. You aren't even old enough to drink let alone hold your own with me intellectually. Arguing with a lightbulb would be more productive.

 

In no way does a refurb on sale equate to Retail at Launch. I bought mine way before Launch Date and in no reasonable way do I feel "betrayed". OP you speak for yourself, you do not get to blanket "early adopters" as your own.

Refurbished is a just a fancy word that means secondhand.

 

Wow..... you can cut the tension here..... LOL. I paid $523 for my X1. A brand new one! Refurb is used, it has been sold once, blew up and fixed.... maybe you got my original X1 OP, it piled up in June of last year.... OR, maybe you got the console that
got shipped back with a "game " in it!!! I think that console made the FBI 10 most wanted!

 

i feel like i should apologize, dealing with the FCC all day for work has really taken it out of me today, so i stand by my first comment, i agree with what LostKauz stated, and i take my leave from this thread.

 

The real issue here is why did Mr. Roughstack pay over $600 for an Xbox One with Kinect and 1 game at launch when the retail price for that would be $560 plus tax. Did whoever sell you that Xbox at least kiss you before they well ya know.

Also since when is refurbished the same as new?
