That message keeps appearing because you don’t have enough Microsoft credits. If you did, then your Microsoft credits would be your default payment method. If you still wish to make a purchase, either enter a gift card code or put in your credit card information.

If you chose your account balance when you initially preordered it, then it will take the funds from your account balance. If you chose your card, then it will take funds from your card.
