    Microsoft account security alert?


    So I recieved this email on my work email address: Security alert We think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account **********@****.com. When this happens, we require you to verify your identity with a security challenge and then change
    your password the next time you sign in. If someone else has access to your account, they have your password and might be trying to access your personal information or send junk email. If you haven't already recovered your account, we can help you do it now.
    Recover account IS this a scam?

    Microsoft account security alert?

    More than likely it will be a scam.

    The only way to know is to log in on your console and see if it gives any warnings.

    Do not follow any links given on the email.

    You should change your password every so often anyway, so its worth doing just in case.

    Edit: surely you logged into the account when accessing the forums? , did you notice anything wrong?

    Been quite a lot of these scam e-mails going around. And they all have a `click on this link` box which makes them easy to spot.

    Any genuine e-mail will be addressed to you personally and not just start `Dear Customer`.

    E-mails I have received regarding security issues on my Microsoft account have always been addressed to me by name and have never included a link in the e-mail.

    And e-mails regarding my XBL account are addressed to my GT.

    Guys, There was no problem logging into the forums and I haven't turned the console on yet Microsoft account security alert? ;) Been away for a few days. Though my password is changed now and I think I'll do this regularly. Thanks, I though it was a scam

    my microsoft account's database was deleted

    i had my phone number and i already tried to sign in before using it but it told me the same thing

    so if the account was compromised and i didn't receive any messages or security alerts so that is a problem from microsoft that i didn't receive any messages or any security alerts

    also i have the password and email and the number that was linked to it

    and name mc you have to join a specific minecraft server to verify its your account
