Microsoft Account Permissions

So I'm trying to play Minecraft for the first time on a new Xbox 1. Whenever I open it though, it says I can't join multiplayer games because of my Microsoft Account Permissions. The thing is, I went into my Microsoft Account and made sure all of that was sorted out So I have all the permissions set to what they should be, and I have an active Xbox Live Gold membership, but it still isn't working

Multiplayer games can be controlled via privacy setting, it would be the only option that can restrict your access.

To change the privacy settings your account must be an adult account, otherwise you will not have access.

see it in your privacy settings:

if your account is for a child, you need an adult account to link your account and manage your privacy settings

check that these are the permissions you changed on your account.

I have already done that to resolve a permission issue with minecraft several weeks ago, I only encounter this permission issue with my xbox account, not the overarching microsoft account.

But I never initiated the migration. Doesn't Microsoft need my permission to migrate my account to a Microsoft account?

You can start the game offline but you need an account first and enable offline permissions in the Microsoft Store app on your Windows.

Open the app, go to Microsoft Store settings and enable offline permissions.
