    Microsoft account password characters limited on the Xbox 360


    Check this out! I've just learned something that I need to share with all customers regarding their Microsoft accounts affiliated with their Xbox 360 profile sign in...

    The minimum amount of characters you can input for your password is 6, while the maximum is 16. If you pass those boundaries, you will accidently block yourself from signing in to your profile...

    However, on your Microsoft account itself, I don't see any limit to any characters needed to creating a password...

    I am informing you all about this, because I had to change my password about three times in order for me to play on my 360 again...

    Until Microsoft & Xbox are perfectly integrated with one another, I strongly suggest to anyone who still owns a 360 to keep your Microsoft account passwords at 6 minimum to 16 maximum, or the same thing will happen to you...

    Sorry but The ONLY way to use the 360 is to make a new password that is less then 16 characters.

    The password box on the 360 is limited to 16 characters so until you make your password less then 16 characters you will not be able to sign into your account on the 360.

    XBox sign-in does not support passwords longer than 16 characters

    After receiving a security alert, I changed my Microsoft password to a nice, secure, 17-character password. But the XBox 360 only accepts the first 16 characters, and drops the rest, so I can't sign into my account. This seems stupid. Why is the password
    input field limited to 16 characters? Especially if the underlying system accepts more?

    same email, different password. the passwords back then had to fit the xbox 360’s 12 character limit. the password has since changed over the years and xbox now allows more than 12 characters, and the current password is over 12 characters.

    check how long your password is because the Xbox 360 has a limit of 16 characters for passwords.

    Xbox 360 keeps telling me my password is wrong. And it isn't.

    If your password is longer than 16 characters you will need to make it less than 16 in order to play on your 360.

    The password box on the 360 including the 360 emulator on the Ones is limited to 15 characters so if your password is longer than 15 it anything typed after that will not be seen by the system and it does not match your password that is on your account.
