Microsoft Account mess!!

This will be long winded....

So today i tried to sign into my xbox account only for a box to pop up saying my account needed verifying. My email address and password were already filled in so I clicked through to the end and the xbox told me the details were incorrect and was
given error code 80154016.

This is where it gets annoyingly complicated. So when i set up my xbox account about 5 years ago I used my (now old) hotmail account which i no longer use and don't know the password for. I have no way to log in to change my email account associated
with my gamertag, either on the computer or on my xbox. I have tried to log into my old microsoft account by guessing the password and it comes up "It looks like someone else is using your account" - I went through and answered questions about the account
to recover it but "didn't answer enough correctly to verify".

I have a new email address, a new phone number and no way to verify or update my original account.My gamertag is Lootyloo91 not this one that i've accidentally created! I'm stuck.

When i log into my current microsoft account it is not linked to my gamertag and can't find a way to do so. I just want to sign in and play my games, why is this so complicated?!

Please help someone...

It seems like it will be easiest to follow if I go through each bullet point one by one. So here we go. ^_^

• Here's our guide for changing the information on your Xbox Live account. This should help you get things on the correct email:
  
  support.xbox.com/.../change-xbox-live-account-info
• How do you mean that your Xbox Live profile connected to your primary account?
  
• You cannot transfer ownership of Xbox Live purchases to a different account.
• You cannot transfer ownership of Windows App Store content to a different acount.
  
• You cannot merge Microsoft Accounts.
• Can your son use content bought in the App Store on the account that purchased it?

Hi,

I'm utterly frustrated with this complete mess of accounts at Microsoft products!



I use the following products/services of Microsoft:

- outlook.com/hotmail.com with custom domain

- Xbox 360

- Surface Pro - Windows 8

- Skype



I have the following problems:

- I cannot move my account/emails to my new primary account (old email should move to new custom domain account)

- Xbox uses different account, which is somehow connected to the "primary" account.

- Cannot transfer Xbox Live purchases to new account.

- Cannot transfer purchases of Windows App Store to new account.

- Cannot merge accounts.

- My son cannot use the games I bought in App Store.

Generally I have noticed that the different account settings is totally inconsistent and makes me confused.

- Some products use the old layout (family saftey, live.com)

- Family Members are only used in windows phone 8 (as it seems).

- Skype Profile, Xbox Profile and other products seem to use different settings.



This really sucks. One would think all those products and services should be connected in a nice way if they are provided by the same company and even the hardware is provided by Microsoft. Obviously NOT....

I have tried that and was told I didn't answer enough questions to verify. It's all old information that I don't remember anymore.
