Microsoft Account Help needed - Old Account - Old Email :(

To recover the GT you'll first need to run through all the steps in this form. From there you should be able to change the associated e-mail address. Let us know how it goes

If the email that you are trying to add to the old account is already a Microsoft account you will not be able to put the email onto the old account since it would not know what account to sign into when you go to sign into the account.

You would either need to put in an email that is not already a Microsoft account.

I'm not sure if theres a way to recover an account if you can not validate through the old one. This would be a security issue.

Hi there! Sounds like this email is now it's own Microsoft Account rather than associated with your old GT. If you log into Xbox.com with the old email, does the old account still come up? If so, no worries! All you need to do is use the console to swap
the net GT onto an empty Microsoft Account, then swap your old GT onto the account you want. All the steps for doing that can be found here: Change

I understand you need help with changing your email or alias to the account.

Just a heads up, the error you are getting means that the email you are trying to use to replace the old email is already being used on another Microsoft account.

You cannot use an email that is already tied up to a Microsoft account to change an email on an old Microsoft account. You need an email that has not being tied up to any Microsoft account yet so you can change your old existing email.

If you still want to use that email, I suggest removing that from the Microsoft account by changing it first with another email (can be a dummy email as long as it does not have a Microsoft account) So that you can free it from that account and use it to change your old one.

Note: This should also be a third party domain, first party domain will not work (Hotmail, outlook etc.)
