    Microsoft account hacked, email changed, 2FA enabled.


    Yeah, another guy who account being hacked.

    Timeline:

    2020 or earlier, account created

    unknown time, the xbox profile linked to my discord account.

    unknown time, I linked the account to my pc and edge browser.

    2021 subscribe to game pass(not sure if it's included xbox but I only play in pc) for one or month because there is a discount, no payment record preserved.

    2021-12-25 or earlier, buy minecraft java edition (not sure if bedrock included), no payment record preserved.

    2023-11-06 last time I remember having access to my account as I linked it into Prism launcher, I have the email.

    2024-12-16, a email sent to inform me one drive account is unused.

    2025-3, my pc get hacked and bunch of account(ubisoft, instagram) being stolen. I believe the account is also being stole at that time, but I didn't get any notification.

    2025-4-13, when I want to open minecraft, the verification expired and I have to login again. And an error message, showing the account not exist is shown, no screenshots left.

    2025-4-14, try to recover the account. by checking my pc, I know the email address that hacker changed and I actually have once received a security code in my email, but I didn't notice. open a new account using the same email as I thought the xbox profile is linked to the email, not the account.

    I try to contact online agent, who simply pass the ball to higher level support, left only a auto generated email.

    I genuinely hope you can solve my problems in one contact.

    This doesn't help with your issue but it's not a good idea to have a MS/Xbox account without 2FA enabled....so many people posting on here that have had their accounts hacked because they haven't enabled proper security with 2FA

    Hi Lucas, so there is no way to recover my account? No microsoft employee can change the account email to my original email instead of the hacker email?

    Is it maybe possible to transfer the games i had on that account to another new account?

    I Just can't believe i lost my account with all my games and progress just like that even though i had 2FA enabled and everything.

    Hi WilyWonka8,

    I’d recommend to contact Xbox Support in this situation as they are trained and know how to resolve it. In the off chance that someone has hacked into your account, changing passwords
    and enabling Authentication to your Microsoft account can help. You should be able to speak with a live agent. Here’s how to enable Authentication on your account: 2FA

    thing is with microsoft, you cannot use the recovery form for an account with 2fa enabled, you will need to contact support directly as there is no online way of doing this, usually microsoft refuses to touch an account with 2fa on as even they cannot retrieve codes for the account.

    Unfortunately with active 2FA it is not possible to recover your account.
