    Mini-Survey: How do you purchase your digital content on Xbox Live?

    A mix of Credit Card and online gift cards. The Xbox Live marketplace is weird for me, it charges me tax when using a credit card directly, but doesn't charge me any tax when using my Microsoft account balance. So usually what I tend to do is always makes sure I have something in my account balance so when I use my credit card, it only subtracts what was left over after taking from the account, and this never includes tax.

    No, sorry that is not possible. If you would like to send a gift card to someone you would need to purchase the card and either mail it or, if it's an Xbox code, email the code to them.

    If they live in a different country than you please be sure that the code is for their region as most codes are region locked.

    Microsoft gift cards and Xbox gift cards are essentially the same thing. They both add funds to your Microsoft account balance. So if the game allows you to use your Microsoft account balance on the purchase, then either gift card will work.

    If you redeemed your rewards points for a Microsoft gift card or Xbox gift card, the balance should automatically be added to the account balance for the account that redeemed the points. They don't send you a code typically.
