    Hey,

    Just bought the Bioshock Infinite season pass (£15.99). It wouldn't let me select my £10 Microsoft account balance as a payment method, so I looked up some FAQs and got the impression if I chose paypal as my payment method, it would automatically redeem
    my balance and take the remainder (£5.99) from paypal. However, the full £15.99 came off paypal and I still have £10 sitting in my microsoft account balance.

    Help appreciated.

    Redeeming Gift Card Codes?

    When you redeem a gift code it adds money to your Microsoft account balance. When you make a purchase on the Xbox store it will give you the option of using a credit card/Paypal or using your account balance.

    I didn't even think about PayPal! That's a really good idea. I had an unauthorized charge recently to my PayPal account and they were AWESOME about reversing it -- and quickly, too.

    Not all content can be purchased using the split payment option. So it's possible that content does not allow that form of payment.

    Thank you for your assistance, it seems that the issue here is that when trying to buy the PC Game Pass the only options that show up are Paypal and Debit/Credit Card, no option says "use Microsoft balance", will by selecting Paypal option the charge come from the balance instead of PayPal?

    Getting charged twice

    When you pre-order with a credit/debit or paypal, Microsoft will run a test charge to see if your payment details are valid. This payment does not go all the way through. Only once the game is about 10 days from release does the actual charge to your payment instrument go all the way through. The only time the amount is fully deducted at the time of pre-order is when using you Microsoft account balance. If you used a credit/debit/paypal to pre-order, then you weren't actually charged in March. It would only be trying to charge the full amount this week as the game is almost out.

    Hello Jose, when it says that your Paypal account was charged, you were trying to buy a game or some subscription, if it's a subscription they can't be paid with your account balance so the system automatically charged your Paypal.

    If you can give more details, I'll be waiting for your reply.
