Let’s check a couple of things on your PC to figure out why the D: drive isn’t showing up in the Microsoft Store:

Go to Settings ⇢ System ⇢ Storage, then scroll down and click “Advanced storage settings”⇢ “Where new content is saved”.

Do you see your D: drive listed under “New apps will save to”? If it’s missing or greyed out, that’s part of the problem.

Next, press Windows + X and click Disk Management. Look for the D: drive in the list. Is it labeled as “Healthy (Primary Partition)”, and does it say NTFS under the File System column?

Let me know what you see in those two places. We’ll go from there.

Do you have other games / are you able to install other games in your D: drive?
Or Sea of Thieves it’s the only game that shows you this message?

just wanted to ask if this issue was fixed?

I noticed when I tried to install Moonlighter it would install into my D drive, but when I try gears, dead cells, pretty much anything else, it will not install. And when I try to install through the MS store, it won't even let me try to choose the D drive.

now it is asking me to install gaming services but when i got to the microsft store it does not let me download it. Forza yet opens the automaticly closes. Please help

Alright, I found the Expansion in my 'Ready to Install' section of the MS Store and I was prompted if I wanted to install it on my D: drive. Looks like its going to work.
