Microsft store makes me rebuy games to play on windows 10

I have games that I bought on my xbox but when I try to get them on my pc (windows 10) it wants me to rebuy the game to play it. If I buy it on my pc then I get it on my xbox. I don't know whats going on. Is it because I bought the games before the cross
platform stuff happened?

Hi, do you mean you have purchased an Xbox play anywhere game, and cannot find the PC version on the Windows 10 Microsoft store? If so, make sure the game is a Xbox play anywhere game, by looking at the game on the Xbox store page.
If it is, then make sure you have the digital version, not the disc version as that does not count as an Xbox play anywhere game. Then goto the Windows 10 store, and find the game on the store, and select install. Make sure you are logged into the same account
you use on the Xbox when looking for the game on Windows 10.

i bought for my son forza horizon 3 on microsft store.It marks me played at the games nothing launches i go in the library it marks status completed

and no installed or download

I already bought this game on G2A

and so he closed the support

in favor of the seller.

and I cracked thinking that the l bought in the microsft store would be safe and easy because my son was hoping

I bought it for xbox under windows 10

I do not know what to do

all the titles that support the Play Anywhere function are mentioned here:
https://www.xbox.com/games/xbox-play-anywhere . As far as I know all games mentioned there will work on both PC and Xbox One (when both systems use the same account). Keep in mind that this is only for Digitally purchased games so not on Disc.

Which games are asking you to purchase them again?

When you purchase a game digitally, the Store listing should mention both "Xbox One" and "PC" in the "Available on" section. If you only see one of those platforms listed there, then the game may have different listings for each platform, and those will
need to be purchased separately.

Also, check that you're signed in to Xbox One and to the PC with the same Microsoft account / Gamertag. It's possible that you are entitled to play games you don't own if, for example, your console is set to someone else's Home console and that person purchases
a game.

 

Also, instead of checking the store for the game, check your Library to see if you can download it from there.

 

FatalPvPness reached out via Xbox Live messaging and the game in question is ARK: Survival Evolved. This game has two Store listings for

Xbox One and
PC separately, and the PC edition lists Xbox Play Anywhere support, while the Xbox One edition does not. This game looks like it was

grandfathered into the Xbox Play Anywhere program and likely has nonstandard licensing behavior across the two editions.
