Microphones on both of my headsets not working since this week's update

has any one found a fix yet it has been 3 months and now they want me to send my xbox in to get fixed is there a differnt headset i can use for the mean time

 

the basic chatset that comes with the Xbox does work

 

thanks i will look for a head set that will work that's better then what xbox has told me in 3 months if it dose not work ill post back

 

With me All stereo type headsets failed to work, only input sound but no mic. With the basic chat set the mic works but the gamesound comes from my tv

 

Any fix yet?? so i can sell my xbox and build a pc

Last week I purchased a brand new Slim and got it updated. New system/controller and once I configured my router and got the nat and the firewalls configured, all of that, I started it up and attempted to talk to some friends in the party. At the time I
was using an old set of iphone earbuds because the slim bundles don't come with a headset and it was all I had at the time. Immediately I had problems with it- not only did the chat (me and 2 friends) get filled with beeping noises, but they couldn't hear
me at all, and could only hear the clicking noises of my volume buttons. The chat ring around my name did not light up except for when I pushed the volume buttons on the earbud.

I figured the earbuds might have been defective, even though they worked fine with my phone, so I drove to gamestop and bought a basic headset. It did not produce beeping noises but still gave me the same problem- my friends could not hear me. The system
and controller are brand new and up to date and my ISP assured me that the router was configured properly. Based on everyone's posts I assume this is software related so I guess I can only... wait for a patch/fix to be released? I talk to my friends through
skype, with my ipad on the desk next to my xbox but not everyone has this capability. Hopefully it gets fixed soon :/ I have faith it will be

 

I have a similar problem, except when I plug in my mic or anything that can go into the small port, it doesn't make any noise at ALL. It even says that I don't actually have a mic plugged in. And to make sure my mic worked fine, I plugged it into my computer
and it worked perfectly fine. I have no idea what's causing the problem, but it seems that Microsoft doesn't know how to fix this since none's replied back to me. Oh and as an extra thing, I plugged in a different mic which worked for less than 2 minutes before
even that just didn't make any noise anymore.

 

4th is also happened with me today except i tried it one both my xbox consoles and both have the same problem my gf and i were just using them last night and all of the sudden this morning nothing. Live support cant fix and i am reluctant to buy another
mic. One solution i have found is using after glow ag9's because they work through a usb stick which eliminates any software issues within the controller and adapter which i feel like is the issue with this. I hope this helps some others i know spending 75.00
on these headphones is alot but if it fails you can return them. No current solution or rhyme for reason on why this is happening as far as i know i didnt receive an update on my console prior to it malfunctioning.

 

I'm having this problem, AGAIN, also. It hit me about two months ago, and when I finally got to the step where they told me to delete my profile and re-download it, it worked. At the same time, my son's account (same headset, controller, and box) worked
just fine. So it was obviously something w/my profile. We tried multiple combinations of controllers and headsets, still with no luck.

It just hit again almost two weeks ago, this time to him on his account, and to mine as well. We have restored the xbox to factory, resets, associated the controller with different profiles, etc. etc. etc. No love. If I use our tv, I can run sound out from
the tv to my turtle beaches and use the kinect as the mic. However, if I plug in the headset (either with or without the adapter), we can hear but not talk. The controller registers that we have a headset attached and blocks the kinect (even though we've tried
to set the xbox to not do that). We've tried all of the combinations of different things, but no luck there either. And no, nothing is muted. It doesn't work w/Skype test call either. Our monitor we normally use doesn't have sound out, so I can't even use
my workaround.

Here's the kicker: The headset/mic is still communicating to the xbox itself. I can use Cortana, so I know the mics work. I tried it also w/the Kinect unplugged to be sure the mic wasn't somehow picking up that command but not chat.

The fact that MS has marked this as Answered and is no longer following up is unacceptable. I would hate to have to rebuild my game library, but moving to PS is looking better and better.

Short version: Just got new Xbox One S on Wednesday. Trying to use my headphones via the 3.5mm jack on the controller. Get nada, no green circle, no nothing. iPhone earbuds produce ugly noise. Confirmed my headphones' mic works with my phone.

 

I was playing Friday the 13th with my mates and I went into game chat and since then my mic has stopped working

 

This is similar to what happens to me. I have used my headphones (two different sets) and will hear alright, but then there is a really ugly noise, and the controller freezes and disconnects, with the light on still. I have to remove the battery, then turn
the controller on a couple times, then it will just work for sound, but I haven't had the mic work the last 2-3 times I have tried to get into a party chat. Driving me crazy, any suggestions?
