Microphone works until send a party invite--help!

FOUND A QUICK FIX, snap party, send invite to friends, easy as can be, if you have problems, just keep loading the list when in a party until it works. But you have to snap and open a party first, then invite from with in

Thanks for your help but still no luck. The headset is sending sound back but no sound from the party or microphone

^^ plug mic into controller, start party send invites....yeah thats complicated. You didnt even know how to start a party until a few days ago.

Is it possible you accidentally pressed X while on a Party management screen?

That will mute you in this party.

Also try the following, to check if it's an issue with the microphone:

Create a new message to a friend (or any Gamertag, it doesn't matter as you don't really send a message).

Press the microphone icon to record a voice message.

Talk into your microphone, and when you have finished recording your message, listen to the message.

If that doesn't work, it's an issue with your microphone.

Has the microphone worked before? Or did you change headsets and microphones recently?

Same issue since the may 10 update rolled out. As long as people keep making reports Microsoft will hopefully hurry to push an update. It won’t work until they release a patch/update fixing it. Party invites still work, so as annoying as it is, if whoever you normally communicate with sends a party invite as soon as they get online you’ll get that notification and know they’re online without having to check.
