Microphone suddenly muted permanantly?

I did some searching around and it seems no one has found a fix for the issue since the 3 years in which it was brought up; suddenly, my mic goes out, and on my boyfriend's end, it shows that I am muted, but he cannot unmute me. Muted in party chat and game
chat for all games. We were talking and it went out like I had muted my mic, but I didn't, and I've already tried every fix under the sun. The headset still works, as it registers when I connect it, use the mute/volume buttons, and I can still hear others
speak just fine. They try to unmute me manually but nothing happens when they select "unmute". I can still send messages via Xbox just fine, so I don't have an account mute. My NAT settings are open, my account/communication preferences have not changed and
it worked fine up until exactly then. From what I saw in other posts, which as I stated from the top, the issue has remained unfixed for 3 whole years (a recent post from 4 months ago claims that they are STILL suffering with this weird silence bug.). I'm
reviving the issue because I have to use voice communication while playing a few of my games, and at the moment I cannot afford to get my Xbox repaired or my headset replaced. I know both are in great condition because the headset is only a couple of months
old, no more than 3, and the Xbox has never had a lick of problems. Again, I would assume that maybe the mic just went bad but it was very sudden and my mics usually last a while because I don't use them too often. Hopefully a fix can be found. if anyone has
anything, I'd be willing to give it a go.

Kinect and ME3

Do you have your Kinect Microphone muted? If it's muted it won't work.

Hi, in party there is a setting to mute your microphone, if that is pressed it mutes your microphone without turning the light on the headset on.

Check in your party settings to see if your microphone is muted. If this works for you or if you need more help, post a reply!

The microphone is muted, not the headset.

The headset and microphone works on another xbox and controller.

I have tried it on 2 controllers on the bone that is muted.

Check to see if the microphone on the headset is muted. Some headsets have a mute button on the headset itself or on the cable.

To check if the microphone on your headset is muted, follow these steps:

Open the "Settings" application.
Select "Sound & Display".
Select "Audio".
Select "Microphone".
Check the "Microphone Mute" button. If the button is on, the microphone is muted.

Check your console's audio settings. Make sure that the headset microphone is selected as the audio input device.

To check your console's audio settings, follow these steps:

Select "Audio".
Select "Input Devices".
Make sure that the headset microphone is selected as the input device.

You can also test the headset on another version of the console. If the microphone works on another version of the console, then the problem is related to your console version. In this case, it is possible that your console is not compatible with your headset.
