Microphone not working

So I reckon I’m having quite the issue. I cannot hear myself or speak through my microphone, but I can hear both party and game chat through the headset. I tried everything that the Xbox Headset Trouble Shooting page told me to, and I still had no luck.
Furthermore, I went as far as to try both of my mics in both of my Xbox controllers, but none of the microphone combinations resulted in me being able to speak and have my party hear me, much less me be able to hear myself speak through my mic. To make sure
I wasn’t being stupid, I even plugged both headsets into my computer and facetimed myself, and i could successfully hear myself by speaking through the mics, meaning it is not them. The next logical conclusion would be that the controllers do not work, but
the probability that both stopped working simultaneously is unlikely. I don’t know what else to do, but all help is appreciated, thanks!!

So I did a test with a microphone and it didn't work. The chat mixer appears but the microphone does not work.

try to use the microphone with a mobile phone to verify what is the microphone, if it works it may be the control input that does not work

Not all USB microphones works on Xbox, you may need to search for compatible microphones

Try
Setting up a headset adapter. Also
Update your controller firmware
again.

The USB method is my preference.

Update Every controller one after the other to make sure they're all done.

I have both the Turtle Beach Recon chat headset, and the Afterglow Level 1 chat headset.
