    Microphone not working on party chat


    Hi,

    I recently purchased an Xbox One X, and faced issues with party chat.

    I could hear others, but no-one could hear me. After resetting my console, contacting Microsoft several times (very good response time). We could not resolve the issue, but I never specifically mentioned what Headset I was using: Bose QC25 for Apple devices.

    I realized that my headset was Apple-Compatible. On Apple-Compatible headsets, the Mic and Ground connectors are swapped over compared to regular headsets... Most computers will figure a trick out, but not the Xbox One controller.

    If you are having issues using some headsets, check if they're for Apple devices. If they are, most likely the microphone won't work on party chats.

    You will need to use a regular headset (not Apple-compatible), or purchase an adapter.

    I had the issue with a Bose QC25 that was designed for Apple devices... I bought an Android compatible cable from Bose, and it solved my problem.

    Have you had a communications ban? You can login here with the account that is not working and see if there is a ban enforcement.xbox.com/home Good Luck!

    That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
    or game chat.

    The microphone does not work in any games nor does it work in party chats. The headset is the standard headset that comes with an xbox purchase.

    I am able to say "Hey cortana" and cortana opens and works properly. When I go to control panel and perform microphone setup, the microphone works perfectly.

    But when I open XboxApp and start party chat, I still get the error "The sample rate for your microphone isn't supported"
    Still after all troubleshooting steps done so far, every application that utilizes the microphone has no problem. The only application that has a problem is the XBOX APP when I connect to or start a Party chat.

    Astro A50's not working in party chat or game chat on Backwards Compatible games

    Does the headset work on Xbox One Party chat (i.e. do you see a circle around your gamerpic in the party chat on Xbox One)?

    Are only Backwards compatible games affected? If so, it might be that the Astro A50 base station acts as a USB microphone, which doesn't work as Chat microphone on the Xbox 360.

    You might have to contact the Astro A50 support for information on how to use that headset on backwards compatible titles.
    Yeah it works on the Xbox One party chat but yeah that's what i was thinking i might just have to get a old Xbox One chat headset for it to work.
