    Hi,

    I seem to be having issues with my headsets. Just bought an Xbox One a couple weeks ago, so both console and controller are brand new.

    When I plug-in my headset into the controller, the system recognizes the headset, an icon with headset/mic shows up, but it seems like the microphone input is not working.

    I did several things that did not work:

    - Updated console to latest version

    - Updated controller firmware

    - swapped batteries in my controller

    - tried no batteries + hardwired connection to the console via USB

    - Tried 3 different headsets from different brands (all working perfectly fine on laptop, phone, tablet)

    - Updated all my privacy settings to allow chats/parties with everybody

    - Shutdown (fully) the console, disconnected from power source for a minute

    Nothing worked.

    It seems like many people have the exact same issue, I haven’t been able to find one solution that works on either google, youtube or the xbox help/support site. ..

    Would anyone know the magic solution?

    Note: Party chat / sounds (input/output) works fine on my xbox app on my phone... but i cannot hear the game sounds when I do that. I want to be able to party chat on the console so both game and chat sounds come through the headsets...

    “We can’t find a microphone for these people”. Will there be a fix? Don't if this should be under "Post a question" or "Post a discussion"

    The Xbox system does not detect the mic and there is no sound coming out of the headset.

    When connecting to a PC or phone the headset has sound. Although I did not test the microphone to see if it was detected at all. I will attempt that later

    I still think the issue is with the Xbox one S controller that originally came with the console.

    Is the microphone for this headset in-line (on the actual headset cable)? I know for other headsets this means the microphone won't work for the Xbox One.

    Xbox gamepads do not have a microphone in it.
    Yes I know the controller doesn't have a microphone it's when the microphone headset is connected to the controller.

    Striped microphone means you do not have a microphone connected. If you do not have a compatible Xbox headset. You will find out on the headset pack.

    Mic appears to be stuck on mute.

    Hi, in party there is a setting to mute your microphone, if that is pressed it mutes your microphone without turning the light on the headset on.

    Check in your party settings to see if your microphone is muted. If this works for you or if you need more help, post a reply! :)
