Microphone muted - no sound on hearphone

If you have found that one controller but the other does not. You can always try to follow some basic troubleshooting as shown in "Xbox One Chat Headset
Troubleshooting."

If this is not working then it is possible you will need a replacement for the controller. If it is within it's 90 day warranty you can set up an order through the

device support page. If it is past it's warranty then you can find new controllers through the

Xbox Accessories page.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused but rest assured we are here to help, first things first we suggest clearing out the consoles caches since when they get full might cause this type of errors.

How to clear Game Cache on the Xbox One:

System

Storage

Clear Local Saved Games

Yes and Restart

To clear the Network Card Cache (alternate MAC address)

Network

Network Settings

Advanced settings

Alternate MAC Address

Clear and restart

IF THE CONSOLE IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET no progress or purchase data will be lost, what we accomplish by doing these
steps would be to resync the profile to the cloud getting rid of any corruption as a byproduct.

Thank! Mic works with the other controller... so something wrong with the other one I guess. Any clue on how to fix that?

That icon does not mean your Mic is muted. All it means is that no mic is detected. My sugestion is to try the mic with another controller. Reconnect you controller two your Xbox. I did this when it was not working for me.
