Microphone Issues (New hardware, still not working)

Thank you, I tried all the steps. I just plugged my Turtle Beach headset in and it works on the new controller great (my old one didn't have the jack).

It seems to be an issue with the Microsoft brand headsets

Sounds like you need to follow the steps in Update controller firmware especially
if you have an older version.

My preference is the uSB wired method.

It may also be helpful to check Set up and troubleshoot headset adapter

Some additional information:

- this is not a hardware problem. The microphone works fine on the parents account

- I created a new child account and gave it exactly the same permissions as the child account that does not work.

The microphone works fine on the newly created child account.

The party feedback showing that microphone works shows up for an instant when switching to the account that does not work.

I tried resetting all family settings for the account that does not work, but that did not make a difference.

Hello, if the headphones work fine with other devices, then the problem is not with the headphones. If you have had the same problem with previous Xbox consoles, then the problem may be with the console settings or with the console hardware.

Changing your age on your Microsoft account should have nothing to do with the microphone issue.

The static noise you notice when microphone monitoring is on may be an indicator of an issue with the console's hardware.

Unfortunately, when I say the microphone doesn't work, I mean that there was a bit of an accident that led it to be physically disabled. The issue is not with the software, it is with the hardware.
