Microphone instantly muted

Hi,

My head set is constantly showing that it is muted. It is the same on both controller pads.I have have bought a xbox head set and still have same problems.The head set used to work with no problem.Have tried all the remedies on here and YouTube.

Please could you assist have had xbox for 6 month.

Thanks have checked that already.Going to test headset and controller on a friend's box.

Could it be as simple as your headset itself is set on mute? As in, not through the console, but on the cord or headphone connector itself?

I've done some stupid stuff in the past, so if that's the case then you're not alone, haha.

you have already tried the steps
Xbox One Chat Headset troubleshooting article previously posted, then I would make sure that your network is alright.

Do you get any errors when testing your Network or Multiplayer
Connections?

What kind of NAT Type are you displaying?

If your network is alright, you've tried the appropriate troubleshooting, and it happens with Microsoft as well, then it could be a hardware issue. If that is so, you can always get in contact with customer support
for available service options or to device support.
