Microphone audio issues

Extremely sorry about the chat issues. I could use your help with it. Could you fine folks respond back as to how you get this issue. We are trying to repro this so we can get a fix. Please list steps taken to get the volume to up and down.

@Mister Urkel - same issue here, here is my setup.

I am using a Tritton Gears of War 5.1 Surround headset. The mic cable on this was designed to work on Xbox 360, so the microphone isn't plugged in at all. Which is good, because then there's no way for the headset to interfere with the Kinect.

The headset is plugged in to the Optical Out on the back of the Xbox One. The Mic Cable doesn't interact with the system at all, it actually connects to a little volume control which is about halfway between the headset and the mixer box. So, the mic cable
isn't plugged in at all.

Now, with the "Use Kinect for Chat" option turned on, when I go into CoD Ghosts multiplayer, the Kinect Mic does not work. I can issue Voice Commands and participate in Party Chat, however the regular "in-game voice" does not work. So, if I'm just talking
to people in a free-for-all match, they don't hear me (also, there is no Microphone icon next to my name in the lobby.) If I plug in my wired Xbox Headset that came with the One, I can be heard, but the audio goes to the Xbox headset, so I can't hear other
voices in my headphones anymore.

If it works with a different 3.5mm jack would mean that the headset jack it's not doing proper contact with the controller connector, but what you have tried makes it impossible as according to that you have tried multiple headsets and controllers, on this the console, console can't be the issue, so it's either hardware or privacy settings but you said different accounts happens the same and that there's one kind that actually works

So I would recommend, to power cycle the console and try again the controllers with different headsets, as between this 2 must be the issues if with a different kind of headset works

Hi, basically when I use my xbox one headset i can transmit sound but i receive sound from other headsets through my speakers and i do not know how to get it to come through my headset this is a really big problem for me because it ruins any voice communications
in the game

Now I may add one thing, I realise this is day one, and bugs are to be expected, but to my understanding these things are not bugs, these are settings that should have been addressed by someone far before the console made it to in store release.
