Mic will work in Party but not game chat

So, I haven’t played Xbox one in a while and I tried to hop on the fortnite trend. I went to play in battle royal where a MIC should work and it didn’t no one could hear me. I can hear them, so I tried to see if my mic was broken. I went into a solo party
and my mic was working perfectly fine. I even invited a friend and they heard me. So, my headset is not broken. I even checked in fortnite settings and my mic option was turned on. Any help?

Party Chat Sound Problem

My headset works fine, it has sound and the mic works. Game chat works too but I can’t hear other party members in Party Chat but they can hear me

Kinect

I use Kinect as a mic for Ghosts but it has very big limitations. The Kinect in general has a setting that allows it to pick up your voice and use it as a mic if no mic is plugged in. This works on several games but not Ghosts. Ghosts does not recognize
the Xbones mic and will not try to use it. So you can use the mic to chat, but only if you are in a party. You can host a party switch to game chat and nothing will happen, it will not recognize the mic. But if you stick with party chat in a gamemode that
allows you to play with party chat, then you can chat with your party, but you will never be able to chat with the lobby using the Kinect in Ghosts, at least as of now and the current updates.

So there you have it, Use the Kinect for friends in a party, but no Kinect for game chat in ghosts. So looking forward to the adapter when it comes out for my headset.

In Fornite Battle Royale, were you hearing and trying to talk with friends on your squad and in your lobby? We're afraid that you cannot use game chat to speak with others not in your party on Fortnite Battle Royale. If you're still experiencing this, are you
able to invite a friend to your game in order to test this?

Hi Isaiah,

It seems the issue is related to the in-game chat option not working properly in a streaming format since your mic and headsets works in other formats and they work separately on different displays.

What happens if you invite your brother's profile to an Xbox Live party chat and communicate that way? Is there an audio or mic issue when forming a party chat and choosing to not speak in game chat?

So party chat and mic work but the game audio wont play ? Any ideas ?

It's weird, my mic works for party chat, it works for recording messages, works for talking to Cortana. It won't however work with game chat! No matter what game I'm in it shows that a mic is hooked up but the icon won't flash when i talk into it.

I've checked to make sure I'm not in a party and I'm not. Something is up Microsoft needs to fix this.

Iv done the steps you said to take an it still does it on mw2 my mic is not working in game chat on dmz iv tryed everything nothing will work it works in party chat but not game chat it works fine on vandgard just mw2 I can't get mic to work it's getting really annoying
