Mic stopped working

I can hear other people just fine they just can't hear me.

When I go into a party by myself the green dot does not move and does not recognize any sounds coming from my microphone.

I am just using the standard headset, but this is the third one that has broke in less than a year.

It was working fine yesterday and today just nothing.

I have 2 controllers and tested it on both with no luck.

I have tried hard reset of the console, no luck

The Kinect recognizes my chat if I turn it on, but the microphone doesn't so it's clearly not a NAT issue.

I am an adult and do not abuse my equipment.

It seems like these headsets break far too easily or I have just gotten very unlucky.

Tried everything it says, I even bought a new controller and a new headset but they also don't work. I am sure it's a system flaw, maybe something came up with the automatic update I don't know... I have seen more people on this forum with the exact same
problem but no solution.

Originally I was using the standard headset, then the chat stopped working. I could hear other people talking but they could not hear me. So then I bought the stereo headset and the same thing happened. I bought a new adapter figuring that was what broke.
But it still doesn't work. I can hear everything including game sounds and chat, but no one can hear me, and they say they can hear a buzzing noise through my mic. I've tried 2 adapters and 3 controllers. All controllers are updated. Reset my xbox more than
enough times. Nothing works.

 

Send back to xbox and they'll replace it for free as you still have warranty.

 

tried upgrading to a xbox stereo headset

broke after a couple months- sound only comes through 1 ear- mic works fine

they won't provide warranty unless you keep your receipt despite I have even purchased Microsoft complete

4th Microsoft headset to fail on me
