Mic stopped working all of a sudden!!! Please help

My brother and I are both having this same problem! Though it alternates. Sometimes his mic works and I can hear him through the headset but I can't talk. Or the other way around. Anytime he's using the Kinect for the mic it works just fine. We've tried
different controllers. We both use default headsets. Tried power cycling, controller firmware is up to date. It's really annoying not being able to chat

If you have tried all of the above and a new mic and still get a problem, then try a new controller, possibly a friends or family members that isn't your own with the
same headset on that user's account and test to see if they are able to communicate. If the user is able to talk using your headset on their account and their controller, then it is more than likely a problem with your old controller, if they
are not able to talk still then it may be possible that the headset is the problem. If you are 100% that the settings and everything said by myself and others have been done, then try replacing either the controller or headset based on your result.

I would recommend that if it comes to this that you keep the proof of purchase and keep the packaging and everything provided in a good condition on the off chance you need to return it for a full refund as it didn't help. If you still get a problem be sure
to come back.

In addition as a side note, are you part of the Preview Program?

Ok, I know the one you're talking about. Have you checked to see if your controller needs an update? I'm not really sure what else it could be, other than maybe the mic just went bad.

If none of the above works as suggested by the other two, using a different controller and ensuring the settings are fine, then I can only suggest there is a problem with the headset. I would recommend contact the Headset creator support whether it is Astros
or Turtle Beach etc and see if they can help out with a replacement.

I have also tried doing skype and I cannot hear myself talk.
