Mic stopped working all of a sudden!!! Please help

I was playing nba 2k16 with my friends in a party then all of sudden I can no longer talk but I can still hear them. I haven't been able to talk for about 4 days now. I have tried a new mic but it has the same result. I have also tried all the trouble shoot
stuff but it still does not work. When I'm in the party it says I have a mic but it does not light up when I talk. I have searched for answers but I have found nothing. Please help I'm thinking about just not playing xbox anymore.

Problem with this game grrrr

Hi I recently got taptiles and it was working fine, but all of the sudden it has stopped working, I've installed the optional updates, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, is there anything else I can do to fix this?? Please help!!

 

Head set

My son can hear thru his head set, but his mic seems to have stopped working, we have tried all the obvious remedies, can somebody help please.

 

It may be possible that you are under a communications ban, can you still send messages? Check enforcement.xbox.com/home or the associated Email to your Xbox account to see if you are under a ban.

If this is not the case try performing a power cycle on your console and removing the accessory from the controller and plugging it back in, also try using the controller both wired or wireless if possible to see if any changes occur.

I can still send messages. I have tried plenty hard resets and plugging and unplugging the mic. I have yet to try a new controller but could it really be the controller?

If you haven't already done this, try these steps;

1. Plug mic into your controller

2. Double tap the Xbox button to bring up the guide

3. Scroll down to the settings tab and make sure you have "Headset Mic" set to 'On"

Switch out controllers. Can you still use mic through the Kinect at all?

 

If none of the above works as suggested by the other two, using a different controller and ensuring the settings are fine, then I can only suggest there is a problem with the headset. I would recommend contact the Headset creator support whether it is Astros
or Turtle Beach etc and see if they can help out with a replacement.

Okay hey there follow all posts above and also this one.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds alright

2) Unplug everything (Power, HDMI etc) connected to the console

3) wait up to 5 minutes then reconnect everything

4) start the console up and the green screen should load wait until it is finished.

5) Settings - network - network settings - Test network connection + multiplayer connection

6) (Optional) Settings - Network - Network settings - advanced settings - alternate MAC address - clear - Restart console

 

@wotan this might sound dumb but I cannot find headset mic.

@medguy29 I'm going to try a new controller tomorrow.

@dol I'm using the Xbox mics that came with the Xbox one. The really crappy ones.

@purplenurpe I tried this and I still have the same problem.

 

I have also tried doing skype and I cannot hear myself talk.

 

Are you using a headset adapter or one of the newer controllers that have the headphone jack? If you're using a headset adapter you wont be able to see that menu, so it must be some other problem.

 

I'm using the old controller and I'm using like the default headset you know?

 

Ok, I know the one you're talking about. Have you checked to see if your controller needs an update? I'm not really sure what else it could be, other than maybe the mic just went bad.

 

I have updated it already and I have tried a brand new mic. I'm going to bring my mics and try it at my friends house tomorrow.
